Just want those parents that are not sure what to do to know to just

go for it!!! I was told like everyone else to just wait it out and it

would round on it's own. At 13 1/2 months we finally took it into our

own hands and basically forced a ped to prescribe a helmet. Best

thing that could have happened! At 14 1/2 months we started the DOC

Band. In just two months (short time for a older child) it is

progressing so nicely! Yes it takes longer, but it still works even

in older children! I have a couple pics if anyone is interested in

the progress in the " older kids " folder under Ella. (2nd page)

Thanks for everyone's help and kind words in the beginning! It is so

nice to have a group like this out there. It's a hard thing to get

used to!

I am considering a second band. We got a slow start with the first one and my son couldn't wear the helmet as directed due to staph infections. Now, four months later his head looks exactly the same if not worse. I'm so discouraged! We don't have CT here and there are few orthos here that do the helmet. Colorado is not a band friendly state. I'm not sure though if my insurance will cover a second band. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I'm very unhappy with my sons head shape.
