Guest guest
My son was seen through the plastic surgery clinic at Cincinnati Childrens Hospital last year after our pediatrician referred us there for his plagio. He did not have tort but did have severe brachy and also some R sided plagio, as well as some frontal bossing and mild facial asymmetry. Our experience with them was good, although most of the actual treatment and interaction was not with them but with Hanger, who CCH referred us to for the helmet. I think we were only seen at CCH two times, once initially then about midway through his treatment, and we skipped the appointment after treatment was over. I know some people have had bad experiences with various Hanger sites around the country but our helmet experience through Hanger was excellent. Our orthotist Sherry was great. was in his helmet for 3 1/2 months from 4 to 7 1/2 months and we were very happy with the results. His CI went from 98% down to 84% and his asymmetry resolved. Thats great that your getting such good results with the PT! Hopefully you'll have a good experience with CCH and with the helmet. , mom to 19 months Hanger grad Feb 08, brachy From: rlbgerhardt <rlbgerhardt@...>Subject: Cincinnati Ohio Childrens experiences?Plagiocephaly Date: Monday, December 29, 2008, 5:13 PM My son has left torticollis. He was a forcep assited delivery. The docs think that his neck got damaged that way. I found a bump on the left side of his neck at 3 mos and had it checked out, that is when he was diagnosed with the tort. He PT is goign great! He went last week and we don't have to go back for a month!! He pretty much has full motion to the left. He does have a flat spot on the right side of his head I am not sure how bad it is, but I notice it. We have an appt (out PT referred us) at Cincinnati Childrens next week for possible helmet therapy. Anyone have experience with them on the baord? If so I would love to hear your comments, etc. Thank you.Robin in SW Ohio
Guest guest
- Thanks for giving us Sherry's name. I actually called down there and spoke with her today and she was very helpful!!!! She even answered some questions about how the clinic works at Childrens Hospital. She seemd very knowledable. We won't be meeting her at the clinic becuase she has an appt she has to go to, so we may have to be scanned by someone else or at another location She was even able to give me the price ($2500 if insurance doesn't cover it) and a little bit of info about how the insurance process works. Thanks again...
