CAUTION from the Silly Yaks at the Bunce zoo! Do not eat these recipes that I

have posted if you are new and healing. Even Kiki doesn't eat this stuff during

a flare. She never ate it during intro either.

WE are a family of five, with various degrees of intestinal disease. Discretion

is advised to all.

The guidelines in the book are a must, if you want SCD success. This is why we

have wonderful moderators to help us out and keep us all in line.

I am not a moderator, I am a mother, who jut puts in her 2 cents every now and

then. I am learning too! What I say is either from the book or from our

personal experience.

At eight months out, my husband and son are the only ones that can already

tolerate the whole nuts, dried fruits, sun flower seeds and pumpkin seeds. The

still went through the stages but faster.

Me and Kiki where much sicker when we started SCDiet. Bubbles never had

intestinal disease (that we know of) but we feed her like Kiki because she is

two also...and it is easier that way. Kiki is back to intro because we " jumped "

to raw fruits and vegetables, this spelled disaster to her. She does so well

with SCD when we stick to only easy to digest foods. Just thrives. She also

has CD and IBD. Lucy told me that I need to hang loose, because some of these

kids are going to take longer to heal. Elaine said two years for CD, and even

longer for IBD/UC.

I too feared the cranberries with their thick skins. WE have not fed this

cranberry apple sauce to Kiki. I also, put a warning on my coconut cake. I

thank you Patti and Carol for giving me ideas to strain my cranberries so that

she too can enjoy this with the rest of us. She will be grateful for your

advice.

I hope that I did not make any one sick with my recipes. An ounce of SCD sense

is needed here. Read the btvc book and learn why some foods should not be eaten

early on. Visit the stages at www.pecanbread.com<http://www.pecanbread.com/>

under food preparation and this too will help you if you are questioning a food.

Even on a good day Kiki still can not eat SCD dry beans, peanuts, pistachios,

cashews, whole nuts, dried fruit, or raw coconut. This last flare was caused by

to many raw carrots. WE thought that she was ready, and we learned the hard

way.

We all need to realize that it takes time for some of these kids to heal

(including myself). Like I have been told: " It was the turtle who won the race

and not the hare " . Kiki just has to have every thing peeled and cooked for now.

Even if she is 8 months out. The reason to why I posted these recipes is

because in our home, and on this serve I know that we are all arriving with

different degrees of problems.

Thankfully Kiki is a minority in her own home. The rest of us are flying

through the stages pretty much on target with Elaine's book. And yes Carol I

meant " be wary " ...I am sleep deprived because of staying up with a sick two year

old. Bare with me. I hope that I do not seem to " weary " to you. LOL!

Hugs, to all, Antoinette and family of five Problems to why we eat this way:
