Guest guest
Dear Patti and all, I would not want anyone to eat it if they are a beginner. So anyone else reading this, please respect that this is an advanced food. But I do have a quesiton. Can you tell me why coconut flour when processed untill it is as smooth as almond flour is not allowed? Is it what it is made out of, or just becasue it is fiberous? When I process my cocnut like this it is no longer that fiberous. But it does take time to do this. Yet will always respect Elaine's guidelines and fears. Just wondering. Antoinette (SCD 2/06) Antoinette, I believe you said, " Patti and all. " :-) The fiber is still in the coconut no matter how finely it is ground. You did not specify it is an advanced food. Antoinette if anyone in your family is having flares and regressions it's time to recheck that they are not having raw foods and advanced foods too soon and not being fed illegals without you knowing about it. Even though we study the book and the web sites, it's easy to slip up sometimes in the desire to have a wider choice of foods especially with those who seem constantly hungry or when a parent wants to imitate conventional recipes that are appealing. Maybe you should keep a food log if you don't already do so, of anyone at home that is experiencing problems. You report you are also seeing some progress but then turn around and say it is uneven and punctuated with some setbacks. After six years and in spite of having had access to Elaine, I still have much to learn and often rely on Mimi, Patti, Sheila and Charlene to give me correct answers especially when a question concerns children. Sometimes you do present yourself like a veteran even though you are relatively new to SCD. As for advanced foods, would you believe I never used coconut until this year? Carol F.
