Guest guest
My husband told me the same thing... Guest guest
My husband innocently asked a co-worker what happened in the bathroom at work after the co-worker had left before he entered. The co-worker explained he had GBS (I believe 8 mos. out) and that is what his BM smelled like since. I wont be crude and say what my husband said it smelled like but he is going to stand my me and my stink cause he loves me. Did joke about adding a second bathroom on to our present one so I could go " out " to it. Geeze...an out- house? Guest guest
All I can say is, I do make sure that there is always a supply of room spray in the bathroom at work and at home, even if I though I have to buy the one for work myself. I often spray it before I even start the process!! 2-10-04 404pre-op/367surg/284/160? -- Re: Bathroom odors My husband innocently asked a co-worker what happened in the bathroom at work after the co-worker had left before he entered. Seems my dh decided to ask him my question from last night. Found out that he down's cokes ( not diet) all day, doughnuts and other foods full of sugar and God only know's what else. Claimed he just follow's some of that the Dr. told him. Why did he even have the surgery?? Well I can also add...he's messing around on his wife!!! That is why so many people will be turned down for this surgery because idiots like that intentionally in non compliance. Guest guest
I know of someone who has had the surgery. Spent $50,000.00 on GBS and PS and she has NOT change one iota in her behavior. She eats tons of sugar products, drinks at least a gallon of Coke a day, spends most of her spare time either on the pot or vomiting. I never thought she was a good candidate for the surgery because she was doing it for all the wrong reasons. She's pretty mentally not well to begin with and I cannot understand how the insurance or all the pre-op tests she had done that no one didn't pick up on her personally or bizarre behavior prior to surgery. (Long story). I found out who her surgeon was and I am staying away from him. It appears he's in it for the money and not for being a caring health professional. Guest guest
I feel the same way. Now I have a chance of not getting my surgery due to his irrational behavior. I'll hold him and you slap away! This makes me more uneasy as I wait for the word from our Insurance carrier. A friend back home in TX sent me an article concerning Ins. Co's denial of treatment and approvals for BLS due to cost. If anyone is interested I could email it to you but most of you have already been blessed with BLS. > You know thought that makes me FURIOUS! Guest guest
I use a product called Innermint and have been quite happy with it. If anyone is interested, here's the link to learn more about it. http://www.innermint.com/ I have used this product from the very beginning and assume it really helps because I have not noticed an odor problem. Guest guest
Well I am sorry I have been eating everything I am supposed to be eating I drink no sodas and have not had one thing with real sugar or corn syrup or anything else similar in it and I am only 7 weeks out and the smell of my bowel movements have changed since day one even when I was on clear liquids so it's hard for me to believe that that is the only reason that would happen.......... Guest guest
FATS are what smells in a bowel movement. Sugar is absorbed. Fatty or fried foods will cause the worst odors according the digest at the University which is a total look and culmination of all the studies done on this type of sugery and it is updated monthly and was started in the late 70's. If you are TOTALLY in compliance than it is a medical problem and you truly need to consult with an internal medicine type Dr. > > I looked in the University archives. Guest guest
I agree completely. Today I had a small 2 ounce hamburger plain and a few shrimp for lunch ( the burger was breakfast at 11). When I have a BM it smells. I am eating healthier and less and the smell is worse than ever before and knocks me almost off my feet sometimes. I eat what I am instructed to eat only. Haven't touched sugar, bread, pasta, rice, or carbonation since surgery. Bethany 281/261/230 > > I looked in the University archives. Guest guest
Not to bash whoever writes these standards, but my doctor said that it is completely normal. We not only eat like birds, but also like babies. We eat less and have to chew completely until liquid. I eat very little fat in fact in the hamburger meat that I buy it has only 4 grams of fat per 4 ounces and I only eat 2 ounces in a meal. Maybe we are all different and the odors are for different reasons. My doc said that it is completely normal. Bethany 281/261/230 May 27, 04 > > > I looked in the University archives.
