Guest guest
my original surgery was to be March 10th, the dr i was going to lost his malpractice insurance and cancelled my surgery the day i was to go in the hospital. believe me i know how frustrating delays can be. i was lucky to have found a wonderful surgeon days later and was able to have my surgery a little over a month later than the original date. hang in there and everything happens for a reason. take care and God bless. laurette 4/23/04 open rny 309/290/247/
Guest guest
I am so sorry to hear of your delay. I am sending you buckets of sanity cause valium I just don't have on hand. I am thankful my surgeon had be call from the time I called for an appt. to see if there were any restrictions or hidden clauses. Had my appt. last Friday and I am waiting for a " good " phone call from the Dr. My prayers are with you. > I'm so freaking furious!!! You just don't know!! After > I was approved and everything the surgeon's office > called me to say there is a clause in my insurance > that I have to be covered with insurance (CareFirst > BC/BS) for a year for them to cover it(my year is up > September 8th)!!! This freaking means that the > surgery is moved back to September 10th. OH my god > please send me some sanity and a couple valium!!
Guest guest
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think a good number of us have had delays in our surgeries. I know I did! Mine was supposed to be May 17, and had to reschedule to June 11th. It is very frustrating. What you lose in weight, you gain in patience! Guest guest
I am glad your doing better now. But I have a question and I am not sure if you can answer it but maybe someone might. You mentioned you will remain on the preop diet... What happens after remaining on the diet and loosing " more " weight, you go to the Dr. and your weighed, found you've lost more weight. Could they deny your surgery? Is there a weight/BMI that is considered not eligible for this surgery. Hate to bring this up but I am concerned. I know I can research this online but felt I'd ask those who know it best. Thanks in advance. > Thank you all for your words of encouragement, I > really do appreciate them. Guest guest
I lost about 23 pounds prior to surgery because my surgeon said that I had to try on my own. He told me that the insurance approval goes off the initial start weight when I was first weighed in his office. He told me that any weight that I could lose on the liquid preop diet would only help me in the long run. Hope this helps! Guest guest
Thanks for writing back. I am glad to hear this cause I initally have wanted to start preparing and was worried if I did so good they'd say. " Well you can do it this way why not continue then your problems are over and we are not out $$ " ! I would just hate to overdo it cause I can loose weight but it come's back trifold. > > > Thank you all for your words of encouragement, I > > > really do appreciate them.
