Guest guest
Debbie--I would call your pharmacy because it sounds like the LDN came out of it's emulsion with the emu oil. A cream is not supposed to be runny. Perhaps it was exposed to heat in transit if you have it mailed to you. If you have no absorption issues, the pill would be easier and more accurate dosing. Skin absorption can be variable, as well as the amount of cream can have variable dose if the medicine is not evenly distributed through the cream. It can be a minor issue, but if you need such a small dose, perhaps a capsule would be better for you. (I was a pharmacist in another life)If you're not having severe diarrhea and you are digesting your food fairly well--you probably could take the capsule. Terry, sometimes the cream is better - also cheaper, but that's another story - for people who have to fiddle with their dosage.that way you can just use less cream and it is all clearly marked on the plastic syringe. That's harder if you have acapsule. I believe there are very high absorption rates with the emu oil. Mara
Guest guest
Is it OK to just jump right into the 4.5/mg dose or do you need start slow?Debbie--I would call your pharmacy because it sounds like the LDN came out of it's emulsion with the emu oil. Guest guest
How reactive to things/medication are you in general?Do you tend to have a sensitive reaction?Do you tend to have vivid dreams or problem sleeping?I jumped in at 4.5 and was fine with it, but it very clearly isnot right for everyone and some people cannot handle thatdose, like and Debbie. Skip, of Skip's Pharmacy, who is very knowledgeable about LDN, recommends starting with 1.5 mg, moving to 3.0 mg, and then finally to 4.5 mg. You can get your prescription written for 30 capsules of 1.5, 30 of 3.0, and 30 of 4.5, with refills of 4.5. Then you can start on the lower dose and see how you do... if you do well, you can move to the 3.0, and then combine the remaining 1.5s and 3.0s to make 4.5 when you move to that. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
You can go up pretty fast on the doseage. I can't remember how fast exactly but it was within the first month because that's how it was first written for me. I was supposed to be up to 4.5mg after a couple of weeks maybe. I just never got over 3.0, bumped it back down to 2.25 then played around with the doseage and it turned out 1.5mg seems to be ok. How reactive to things/medication are you in general? Mara This is why I have spent the last few months creeping up on my LDN dose. I have always had horrible troubles with meds. However, LDN seems to be the very first one I didn't, so I think I could have started with the high dose. But I would have really worried about it, given my history.
