Guest guest
I know we all yearn for some foods " ready to go " , but really, squeezing fresh lemons/limes is easy and doesn't take any time at all. You can squeeze a half lemon in thirty seconds max, I'm sure. Or you can squeeze a whole lemon or two and have enough for a few days. Or do several and freeze in an ice cube tray and then you are ready to go for awhile. I wouldn't trust any of the supposedly pure lemon juices; somehow I feel sure they aren't pure by our standards. Guest guest
I bought organic lemon juice one time at WF so I wouldn't run out. I got home with it and on the side it said it was to do a cleanse. Nothing but lemon juice was listed. I was afraid of it from then on so it sat in the cupboard until it expired. Probably not the same brand. I've gotten fresh tangerine juice there and it was fine but in the refrigerated part, not on the shelf.
Guest guest
Hi , It's too bad we can't trust all labels, but you're right, squeezing a lemon into water is pretty easy to do. ) I like your ice cube tray idea, too. My challenge is that I'm in grad school and have a mini-fridge with barely a " freezer, " so it makes it hard to do SCD and make meals ahead. But I'm getting by and will be graduating and moving soon to a place with a real fridge! Yea! Thanks, W. After Hurricane Katrina, when our freezer and fridge had died (along with all of my carefully prepared SCD foods), we had only the mini-fridge we brought back in the van with us because the waiting list for fridges was something on the order of six months. I learned to do a bunch of fast and easy meals... if you can find a place for it, a veggie steamer and a Foreman type grill is your friend. <grin> — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle

Oh no! All that hard work! Hooray for mini things! LOL Absolutely! With your crockpot, you can put things on in the morning to have ready in the evening. WIth a grill and a veggie steamer, you can do fast meals when you're too tired for anything else. (The last semester of graduate school, I was working full time and doing graduate school full time. Guest guest
Oh no! This whole time I thought that ReaLemon was legal. I swear I read it somewhere...though I can't remember where now. I've been using it on and off. Maybe I can find out where I read it. Does anyone else remember reading that it was legal? Guest guest
Nope - it's not legal. AFAIK, no lemon concentrate is. Mara > Oh no! This whole time I thought that ReaLemon was legal. Guest guest
No kidding, Alyssa! I was thinking the same thing! Thanks, Holly! So, I'm assuming since she doesn't have it listed as being approved by Elaine or that she got a letter from the company that it's not legal? Guest guest
You should ask her what the situation is. Maybe she got a letter and would be willing to forward a copy to our group. I never heard that was legal, though. I also wonder if it is a new addition. Myself, I'd be more inclined to approach the WF's Santa Cruz (I think that is the brand) organic, 100% lemon juice and find out if that one is legal - but that's just me - and the other one is more easily found.
