Tania,

these all sound very yummy but for my metabolism also 'sinful'

unfortunately, in the sense that without exercise I think I'll be

piling on the weight like crazy. Someone on the other orthognathics

support website asked for low-carb liquid diet options and I came up

with a few that I thought could be useful for this site as well and

for any one who has problems with a high-carb and high-sugar level

diet like I do.

- chicken or vegetable broth using chicken stock or vegetable cubes

or mix both together to get a nice blend of flavor, when you move

into a soft diet you can also add rice to provide you with some more

fibre

- most fish is relatively low carb, you can toss into the blender

most any fish and mix with mayo and lemon juice to add some more

flavor, i'm a big lover of tuna this style, think of it as tuna or

salmon paste

- cottage cheese is relatively soft and low carbish-like as is whole

yogurt

- you can opt for soy milk instead of regular milk if you want to cut

on the carbs even though I think I will be definitely opting for my

full fat milk to help those bones heal

- i know fruit really isn't that low carb but you'll need all the

vitamins fruits can provide so toss them into a blender and have fun

making milkshakes

- scrambled eggs, low carb, soft and an excellent source of protein

- pureed carrots are truly yummy. This is a dish my mother used to

always cook for me when I was little. Add a little butter for more

flavor.

- Pappa' aka pomodoro aka tomato and bread soup. This is a true

Tuscan treat that my future mother-in-law always makes for me when I

go home to visit. It's very filling. I've provided a link to an easy

to follow recipe for those that are interested.

> Hey team, I am almost three weeks post op and I've

> This is really good, tastes like apple pie with ice

> cream = cinnamon apple sauce (Motts is my favorite) &

> fat free vanilla frozen yogurt (Green's fat free

> frozen yogurt is so good - tastes like regular ice

> cream!) - put the apple sauce on top of the yogurt/ice

> cream in a bowl and enjoy, so good!

>

> = orange juice breakfast smoothie = three or four

> scoops of the Green's vanilla fat free frozen yogurt,

> orange juice, 1 banana, ice - blend and enjoy!

>

> = oreo smoothie - vanilla yogurt, ice, milk, Oreos, Uh

> - Oreo heaven!

>

> = bean burrito - without the burrito, take some

> refried beans, mix it with water to make it less

> thick, melt cheddar cheese on it, and then add sour

> cream and salsa - Mexican night!

>

> = Fully Dressed Spud = make instant potatoes, melt on

> it cheddar cheese, and dress it with whatever you want

> - chives, bacon bits, sour cream, chilli - sky's the

> limit, and its really good.

>

> = Turkey Stuffing - make the classic stove top

> stuffing and drizzle on it your authentic gravy or the

> kind from the store, both good, and there you go - its

> Thanksgiving! Might have to water down the stuffing

> depending on how thick you can handle it.

> Surprisingly, still really good even when watered

> down.

>

> If you want to eat something sinful and so good - try

> this = vanilla yogurt (3 scoops), cream cheese

> frosting (1 tablespoon), peanut butter (1 tablespoon),

> mix all three and enjoy. This is seriously like

> crack, so good you'll keep wanting more! :-)

>

> I've found that eating with a fork is easier because

> food. The spoon is harder for me because of its curve.

> I even eat yogurt with a fork, its weird, but it

> works!

> Peace out - Tania
