Guest guest
Tania, these all sound very yummy but for my metabolism also 'sinful' unfortunately, in the sense that without exercise I think I'll be piling on the weight like crazy. Someone on the other orthognathics support website asked for low-carb liquid diet options and I came up with a few that I thought could be useful for this site as well and for any one who has problems with a high-carb and high-sugar level diet like I do. - chicken or vegetable broth using chicken stock or vegetable cubes or mix both together to get a nice blend of flavor, when you move into a soft diet you can also add rice to provide you with some more fibre - most fish is relatively low carb, you can toss into the blender most any fish and mix with mayo and lemon juice to add some more flavor, i'm a big lover of tuna this style, think of it as tuna or salmon paste - cottage cheese is relatively soft and low carbish-like as is whole yogurt - you can opt for soy milk instead of regular milk if you want to cut on the carbs even though I think I will be definitely opting for my full fat milk to help those bones heal - i know fruit really isn't that low carb but you'll need all the vitamins fruits can provide so toss them into a blender and have fun making milkshakes - scrambled eggs, low carb, soft and an excellent source of protein - pureed carrots are truly yummy. This is a dish my mother used to always cook for me when I was little. Add a little butter for more flavor. - Pappa' aka pomodoro aka tomato and bread soup. This is a true Tuscan treat that my future mother-in-law always makes for me when I go home to visit. It's very filling. I've provided a link to an easy to follow recipe for those that are interested. http://www.divinacucina.com/code/pappaal.html Sara > Hey team, I am almost three weeks post op and I've > been getting very creative in the kitchen, trying to > think of different things to eat.
