Guest guest
My son has been in his Starband for about a week now (he's 7 1/2 months) and I'm hesitant to take him to the full 23 hours of wear as he continues to show red spots. In the beginning they said if the red spots don't go away within the hour he's out of his helmet, then to leave it off until they go away. I've left the helmet off for 15 hours and some of the spots haven't gone away. I have been back to the Prosthetic place twice to have it adjusted and the technician keeps telling me that they can't adjust it must because the helmet could shift too much and make the helmeting process less effective. My son has both brachiocephaly and plagiocephaly on his ride side. After yesterdays visit and a night of sleep in the helmet I noticed new red spots. Is this common? Does the spotting stop after wearing the helmet and acclimating to everyday wear? I'm concerned because I don't want him to get pressure sores and I'm sure my little guy is in pain. Has anybody else had this problem with the Starband? What should I do? The prosthetic place isn't located close to my house and the continued trips aren't proving to be worth my time.
