Glad to hear you are still doing well considering! My surgeon didnt

say much good or bad about arnica when I mentioned it, he just said

I dont need to take anything extra. I think I might buy a tube of

the cream though instead of the pills to have for after surgery. I

dont think it can hurt since its all natural and it's not being

digested right??

One idea as far as the ensure/boost goes...although I have not had

the pleasure of trying either yet...is only using half the boost and

mixing it with a spoon or blender into some milk. I do this with

Carnation instant breakfast almost every morning. I use half the

package of mix and then fill the glass up the normal amount with

milk. If i dont do this, the powder taste is too strong for me or

the chocolate flavor is too chocolaty! This might be something to

experiment with to calm down the intensity of the boost for you.

How long did you have to stick to clear liquids?? And how long till

you can have milkshakes/smoothies, and then mashed potatoes and

pureed stuff??? My surgeon told me liquids for 2 weeks before I can

start a no-chew soft diet. But Im not sure what the 2 weeks of

liquids actually entails.

And one more question...how much numbness do you actually have??

Sara,

Surviving is what it's all about! :)

At 5 weeks post-op, I still haven't slept more than 3 or 4 hours at a

time. So, yay for you! The first two weeks, I slept sitting up,

actually. I think it helped with the swelling - letting gravity do

its thing.

Keep trying ... keep hydrating ... keep postive!

I'm at work, so I have to run.

Sending you happy thoughts,

Carol
