Guest guest
Hi . I'm about 17 months out also. I haven't lost much, but that's an entirely different story. I can answer, to a degree, your question about gas pain. Sometimes I get such awful gas pains that I'm doubled over. They can hit at any time.... during the day, middle of sleeping...whenever. I have found that if I chew (I use the chewables because I believe they work faster) 2 GasX tablets, my pain from that is gone within minutes. I had to find this out on my own. The doctors had no " clue " what my occasional pain was from. I also have a lot of problems with pain sometimes right after I eat. It just depends on what it was I ate, and sometimes it bothers me and sometimes it doesn't. As you can see, I believe there is no exact science here.... trial and error. Good luck, would love to hear more resonses on this one. Tigger > Good Morning all! It's been 17 months since my gastric bypass, and > I'm still trying to figure things out. Guest guest
, pain is not normal, no matter what. There have been a lot of posts lately about stomach pain, me included. My doc thinks it's gastritis and put me on Nexium...so far, doing pretty well with it. It could also be an ulcer or any number of other things. You need to get it checked out. Either call your surgeon or PCP (if he or she is familiar with our issues), and don't take no for an answer. It could be something as simple as excess gas or something more serious. Whatever it is, pain is a signal that tells us that the body is not happy...please don't accept that it's " normal " for us. Hugs, in NJ ************************** > Good Morning all! Guest guest
, I can't answer a lot of the questions but I may be able to help with the back question. My chiropractor mentioned that when we start loosing weight your spine is having to adjust to your weight being distributed differently. I really don't want to get into a big discussion about chiropractors but if you stop to think about it, your body is going through a lot of changes. For me, I had a lot of excess skin that was killing my lower back, when it was removed, the lower back doesn't hurt as much. However, my hips still give me trouble because it is having to adjust to caring less weight and what weight is left is higher then what it use to be. Does that make sense? Guest guest
I had problems with my knees, because I walked differently after losing weight. Weird. Guest guest
I am just about 1 1/2 months out of my gastric bypass (1st surgery-stomach stapling in 1992) and I am having alot of gas pain and this occurs at any time of the day...even in the middle of the night...and nauseau's after eating...I am expecting that this will go away later into the future...I thought that I was just having these problems and was afraid to address this to anyone... I did have complications after the surgery and was in the hospital for 3 weeks due to 2 leaks...and thought that this may have been part of what may be problems for awhile...it gets to the point that I am afraid to eat anything or to try anything new to eat... I go to my family doctor this Tuesday and will see what meds I can get for this...right now I am taking phenergan for the nauseau's...and for the gas I am taking nothing... Any suggestions will be great also...Just letting you know that you are not alone... Joy...
Guest guest
I have had the same problem with one of my hips. I can feel that the joint is not in exactly the right place. This only stands to reason, since my range of motion has greatly increased since my weight loss. My hips are moving in ways they have never had to before. Unfortunately, my chiropractor made it worse, but physical therapy helps tremendously. I am very fortunate, in that there is no arthritis in the hip joint (probably the only joint in my entire body without arthritis), but that the joint capsule gets irritated because it doesn't track correctly. It's all worth it to me though. When I was heavy I walked so as not to move or jiggle anything more than absolutely neccesary. Now I love to wiggle and sway when I walk, feels so female and so free.
