I also got Peridex to use twice a day. My doc never said anything about

the staining. I don't see how your teeth can be stained if you have a

splint in. Mine covers most of my teeth. I also use a small toothbrush

to brush my teeth with as best as possible. The peridex isn't the best

tasting thing ever but I feel it disinfects nicely and hygiene is key.

I think you can also use a diluted hydrogen peroxide mouth wash but

check with your doctor first.

i think i used that (although in the generic form) right after i got

my tooth extracted. i remember the warnings on the bottle said it

could stain - i also remember thinking " this stuff tastes terrible. "

i think it really is just a supperficial stain though - maybe it

sticks to plaque like those tablets they give young kids? all i can

say is that i used it for a week and i thought my teeth looked a

little more yellow. but two days after - with diligent brushing - it

was all gone.

at least i hope! i can only imagine getting the brackets off and

having little white boxes on my teeth....hehehe...will the excitement

ever end??

I used something similar, and it did leave a little staining on 2 of

my front teeth. It says on the bottle that the stain can be removed

by your dentist, so I am hoping that is true. I would be really

upset to go through the braces, and the surgery, only to have big

stains on my teeth afterwards.
