Guest guest
I came home to NE. I traveled with yogurt and other food. Not been going to the bathroom without force from milk of mag. Haven't gone in 4 days. After taking MoM I noticed stool got loose, then skinny, then stopped. 3 days layer (tonight) I had only mucus come out. I've been good in what I eat except I've had some seafood (no breading or spices). I just cooked a chicken so maybe I eat that and butternut squash and eggs. I havebeen eating alond bread and maybe that's not helping. I'm here until the 30th. I'm just worried I'm doing damage. I did make some prune nectar. In all honesty I can't figure out what foods are good for me. Nothing seems to work. But I am trying to get LDN and when I get back I found a nutrtionist willing to work with this diet. Any suggestions to quiet my gut?
Guest guest
Hi , I would cut out the nut flour products. Can you cook up some bone broth soup? The MOM may have loosened up your stool. I would stick to very easy to digest intro-stage 1 foods and soft peeled cooked veggies and fruits. I have also noticed I get C when traveling, which compared to the D I had last year seems odd, but I think the long hours sitting and the inevitable change in diet- not illegals- but just a change in routine contributes. I also tried the prune juice nectar which helped. Just take things easy. PJ > > I came home to NE. I traveled with yogurt and other food. Guest guest
I've faced that from my extended family too. I always travel with food and make my own. However, they also see that I feel so much better now thankfully and are happy for that. I thought my own husband and kids also thought I was strange, but now I have to travel with extra food because they started eating it. My mother thinks I am some kind of nut. She also has terrible IBS but refuses to believe that diet makes a difference. She eats everything and suffers, but there is no convincing her otherwise. So I decided, I wanted to feel well, and don't care what others think of me. It does get touchy in sensitive situations where you want your privacy. We had dinner with some families that I did not know well. I contacted the restaurant ahead of time and pre arranged my dinner and they brought it out with the others and nobody had a clue. I find that if I don't make a big deal out of it, most other people don't. PJ > > > > I came home to NE. I traveled with yogurt and other food. Guest guest
My father has crohn's and takes meds. He swears by aloe and doesn't get why I won't try it. But thankfully he supports me. My sister-in-law swears by aloe and flax and other illegals. She has IBS. But she supports me too. We can eat a lot of food...just not the junk most Americans eat. I know this process will take a long time. I just work so hard at it I'd like to see some results.Have you or anyone else had luck with homeopathic doctors? I'd like to go to a nutrtionist but don't know if I should go to a homeopahic dr as well.UC-C 12/09SCD 1/10Daily, CLO, Magnesium, bromelain, acidophilus Mom of 2 crazy monkeys :-) I've faced that from my extended family too. Guest guest
Actually, I don't want to confuse you, but everyone with C has to find something that works for themto help get them more regular. It's a little different than dealing with D. There was someone here recently who did not get regular until after she started eatingnut flour items. For her, that was the thing that worked. So it's going to take some experimentation on your part. Something that might be too advancedfor someone with D, might help push things through nicely for you. HTH,MaraPJ thanks for the help. Guest guest
Where in Nebraska are you at? I grew up in Sidney, and also lived in Lincoln for 10 years. Interesting that your dad has crohn's, and you UC. My dad and I both have crohn's. Stupid diseases! I recently found that half a lemon in water first thing in the morning got my bowels moving and fast! If you get desperate, that's something you might consider trying. Feel better! Guest guest
Thanks for reminding me about the lemon. I had been doing a half lemon juiced with warm water and a shot of cod liver oil. Hadn't done it while on vacation until today. I also made the prune nectar with oj. I'm just worried about spending the next couple of days Ina hotel. I do have chicken, hard boiled eggs, carrots and b squash so I should be ok. Just more mucus and maybe some blood today and I haven't had that in quite some time..Did my post say Nebraska? Sometimes this iPhone overwrites what I'm typing and I don't relize it. Drives me nuts.I was born and raised in MA and my family still lives here and in RI. So good to be home even with this going on.My aunt asked if she thought this disease was heriditary. I said I didn't think so but I'm sure it was my weak link in the genetic tree. Maybe I'm wrong. Guest guest
Hey :)yeah, a lack of omega-3 or abrupt change in supply that your body is used to can def cause constipation :(Your post said NE, I interpreted it as New England being over on the east anyhow, but I can easily see someone thinking it was NE for Nebraska Best!
