Guest guest
Ok, I may (its never been confirmed, though possible) have UC (flare 5 years ago, brought on by something extremely stupid i was doing: a "cleanse")....and I am, contrary to conventional UC wisdom, becoming a non-smoker. I think LDN might be something great for me, in addition to my many years of SCD... I've seen threads on this that I haven't read but I am really curious: do you get Dr prescription? do you have to "fight" a dr to get a prescription (ie, is it hard to get a Dr to prescribe?) and is this something that has helped SCD'ers???Any feedback would be sooooo appreciated!!!Thank you, Dana
Guest guest
Hi Dana, LDN is by prescription. Most doctors aren't aware of it yet because although it's been in several clinical trials it hasn't been FDA approved for any particular condition, although it helps many. If you're interested in finding out more about it you might also like to join one of the main LDN yahoo groups where there are people with a lot of experience taking LDN for many years. There's also a gal named Crystal who keeps an LDN prescribing doctors list by location, so you can find a doctor in your area who will know about LDN and prescribe it for you. Here's Crystal's email: angelindisguiseldn@... and her website: http://www.freewebs.com/crystalangel6267/index.htm also, here's the main LDN website: http://www.lowdosenaltrexone.org/ Hope this helps!
