I was just reading somewhere recently (can't remember where, it was a few

weeks ago - I have CRS too) that for preventing injuries, it's best to

exercise at night because our muscles are already warmed up from the day.

In the morning, we're more likely to hurt ourselves because our muscles are

tight from sleeping. Or something like that. I don't know how true it all

is, but it sounds like it makes sense. :)

Terry,

The gym is *filled* with people in the morning. Sounds like someone doesn't

want to get up and exercise ! <G>

Yeah, I always see more people there in the mornings than the evenings, but

I figured that I'd pass on what I read. Maybe all those morning people have

more sports injuries than the evening people? Who knows! I go to the gym

in the late morning generally (after the kids are in school) I've been

running at night lately, after the kids are in bed. Haven't injured myself

yet at either time. I do enjoy jumping in the pool after running at night

though.

I've read that it doesn't matter when you exercise except...just

before bed. It may rev up your engine so much that you can't fall

asleep easily. I'm with you Carol, as long as you do it regularly

who cares when. I find that for myself if I don't hit the gym in the

morn I'm likely to put it off altogether so it works best for me to

push my granddaughter out the door to school and jump in the car and

head for the gym.

My Grandma kept welfare children in her home for many, many years.

She & my Grandpa lived on a farm (small) and every child had

particular chores to be done. Two of the girls had to get up early

every morning, walk to the back pasture, bring the cows back across

the pasture and get them in the corral so my Grandma could milk

them.

My Grandma started to notice that these particular young ladies were

getting " skinny " . She tried to put some weight back on them with no

results. Now, you have to understand that my Grandma cooked real

food. We ate real butter straight from the churn, eggs from the hen,

and so on. White bread was a treat - not the norm. So when I say

that she tried to fatten them up, you can get the picture.

Just before she was going to take them to the doctor to find out what

the problem was she noticed that they were the ones going to get the

cows early in the morning (before breakfast). So, she tried

switching chores with two other girls (there were 6 in all). The

first two began to fill back out and the 2nd two began to lose wt.

After she found out what was happening, the cow duty was swapped

every week or two. No more skinny kids!

So, take what you will from this story. It's just an observation by

the sweetest Grandma you could ever ask for.
