Guest guest
How is the Low Dose Naltrexone working for you? I am hoping my son can start taking it. He has been on Imuran and Asacol with hardly any change. The doctor is saying he is heading down the path towards Remicade and we really want to avoid that. Eileen Cawood email: parvus@... I am asymptomatic. I was just wondering if anyone here has gotten off the diet and is eating normally now. How did you go about doing this? Thanks. Btw I recently started to take low dose naltrexone, but that's the only med I'm on.

However, I'm able to be less strict about some things that I was the first few years. I would look at the Weston-Price traditional foods. I would not go back to grains, period. But I know my niece has been able to add in things like potatoes occasionally. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle

Guest guest
I've been doing SCD 14 months and I don't even think about changing anything. I thought it would be a minimum of 2 years before considering it, but so many are on it much longer.I don't plan to ever deviate, however, it would be nice to eat out once in a while without worrying about accidental illegals in food. I don't expect to ever try gluten. PJ > >Hi I'm new to this forum, but I've been on SCD > >for 1 year and 3 months. I am asymptomatic. Btw I recently started to take low dose naltrexone, but that's > the only med I'm on.>I'm not off the diet -- and I doubt I will want to be entirely off the diet ever. Nor will I ever be entirely asymptomatic, as I've got a short bowel (had two surgeries, in 1987 and 1995, and a fair bit of small intestine removed). But I can now increasingly eat items that are not part of the diet. (I've been on it just over a year and a half). I'm not sure it's necessarily something you "go about doing." I just could tell that I was healed enough to try certain specific things, and I've been fairly successful with that. But I DON'T eat those things every day by any means. And obviously they're not things that I just happen to "want" to eat but am pretty sure they'll cause me problems.I don't want to get into what exactly I've tried, as this list is about the diet, not about trying things that aren't on the diet. I take LDN, too, by the way, and it has helped me immensely. (And it's the only med I'm on also.) I've quite convinced I wouldn't be nearly so far without it (and it has also done wonders for my asthma and arthritis). If you want to know more about my forays beyond the diet you may email me offlist.n ______________________________A funny, touching gift book for cat lovers.
