Guest guest
I just went to my doctor's annual convention last weekend in Orlando and they said the same thing. Buffington is a researcher who works with US Bariatrics and Dr. Marema, and they told us in the cooking class that they have just this month reversed their thinking on milk and yogurt. Before it was not at all. Now, Chef says it's been shown thru studies to be a help in weight loss, so they want us to use whole milk--lactose free, if necessary, and Publix Light flavored yogurt. It's not the fat they're worried about with the light, but rather the sugar content. I thought this was really interesting. Guest guest
Yes the yogurt has a lot of carbs but they come from fruit which is a complex carb. Yogurt also provides some calcium and protein too. Lori Owen - Denton, Texas SRVG 7/16/01 Dr. Ritter/Dr. Bryce On Thu, 25 Sep 2003 19:03:55 -0000 " " writes: > Read the part about yogurt and calcium. Guest guest
Before u go running to your frig, spoon in hand to gobble up some yogurt as the article suggests, may I just point out that yogurt is not synonymous with calcium. There are lots of other ways to get calcium besides eating yogurt. And it is the CALCIUM, not the yogurt that has a salutory effect on weight loss. " Not only is it critical to keep your calcium levels high so > you won't lose bone density, it will also help you maintain your muscle mass > and increase your fat loss.
