Guest guest
No I don't eat the rice or noodles. I stick pretty much with meat, chicken, shrimp, pork and some veggies but mostly the meat. I gave up rice last summer when I started this process...lol. Thought I would miss it, but I haven't. I have found with this surgery that those things I thought I could never live without eating, I've hardly had any of them if any of them. Guess it really was just all in my head....lol. Wish I had made the decision years ago to have the surgery. I haven't regretted a single minute of it. Guest guest
i have trouble eating rice, but my friend who also had the surgery eats it once in a while. just remember chinese food is not the healthiest of choices. i guess try it and see how it goes. don't be afraid to try things. but don't overdue it with high sodium foods, high fat foods, etc. Remember this surgery is a tool for us to utilize, we still have to learn to eat healthy, etc. in Delaware Lap RNY 3/10/04 261/171/

Guest guest
I had my surgery on April 21, 2004 I've had some Chinese food - but some are definite no-no's for me now. I can't eat rice of any kind and I noticed that the lomein was too greasy for me to tolerate. But the veggies were great! And the pepper steak - oh my - it was the first bit of beef that didn't bother me. And for me hot and spicy was never a problem - thank goodness. I love my spice. I would just be very careful. good luck > i havent had any chinese food snce my surery 6-23-04. and i am dying > to eat some.. is this a good thing or do u suggest me not to eat any? > > amy
Guest guest
Amy You might just want to try it but chinese food is really an individual thing with every person because my cousin had the surgery and she was fine with chinese food but everytime I ate chinese food I got sick and threw up, even with the smallest intake. It just disagreed with me I probably wasn't completly good with it untill about 6 months out but even now at 17 months I somtimes have problems. I'd say try the soft noodles and and some chicken. (Broccoli, celery and any pork you might have problems with) Let me know how it goes. > i havent had any chinese food snce my surery 6-23-04. and i am dying > to eat some.. is this a good thing or do u suggest me not to eat any? > > amy
