Wow- how things can change in a year! I had RNY Gastric Bypass a year ago by

Dr. Guske in Elk Grove Village, IL. I started at 280 (size 22/24) and

today I weigh 170 (size 10). My journey has been pretty uneventful- and

actually a ton of fun! My husband and I are so busy doing things and going

places

that pre-op we wouldn't have done because I felt self conscious about my weight

and always felt like I had nothing to wear. I have had some B12 deficiencies

(gives me lots of " blonde moments " ), but when I'm feeling like its low, my

hubby gives me a shot. I have my labs done every 3 months and keep up on my

doctor visits. I try to keep up on my protein- which gives me lots of energy

and

helps give me willpower to avoid the carbs (sometimes it works- other times it

doesn't). I have been losing very very slowly now. I hope to lose about 10

more pounds and I was approved for a tummy tuck (I see a plastic surgeon this

afternoon). I feel fortunate to have had such a positive experience- I look

great, but most of all, I am healthy. It has not only been a positive thing

for me, but also for my husband and my 2 little boys (I love when they tell me

" Mommy Bootiful " ). Life is so good- there are times when I have to pinch

myself. I know everyone's experience isn't always so favorable, I am so

thankful

that mine is/was.

I'm glad to finally be on board!

Question for you- this far out does it matter if we drink with our meal?

What are your thought on this?

Blessing to each of you- it's great to finally meet you!
