Guest guest
Kwan, My Orthodontists worked very closely with my Surgeon. So, one would tell the other when they thought I needed to be seen and then I'd get a call from their office telling me I should make an appointment, and when. If ever I worried about too much time passing, I'd just ask. My Orthodontists would always let me know when I should be seeing my Surgeon next. So ... I hope that helps you a bit. Best of luck as you move forward, Carol > Hi all, > > I've been a member for a few years (active reader, passive poster) but > kind of scared with the idea of having a surgery. Guest guest
Kwan, As I have recently found out, it is better to get started a little earlier than you make think with your OS. They need time to get insurance running, etc. and even if it is a little early, so what? You may just get in a couple of extra appointments above what the rest of us get. I was the good one who waited until two months before my surgery was to be scheduled (it was supposed to be end of May beginning of June) and now I am scheduled for July 22nd at a hospital that I didn't want to be at because my preferred hospital cannot get me in until September 13th. I'm very frustrated, but thankful that I finally have a date. Plus, when you finally schedule an appointment with your OS I can almost guarantee you that you will have to wait at least 4 weeks to be seen. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Carol and Connie, Thanks so much for the advice. My OD's office is just 10 minutes from the OS's and they know each other very well. The OD has been mentioning that he's going to call the surgeon since February but I have a feeling that he forgot (as I have heard nothing from my OS). I should have asked him at the last appointment... I'll call the surgeon office this week. Connie, congratulations on getting the surgery date and good luck on your upcoming surgery. Are you excited? BTW, what kind of surgeries are you having done? Carol, are you a pre- or a post-opper? Thanks again, Kwan > > > Hi all, > > > > > > I've been a member for a few years (active reader, passive > poster) > > but > > > kind of scared with the idea of having a surgery. Guest guest
Kwan, I'm about 5 1/2 weeks post-op, upper/lower. Good luck as you move forward, Carol > > > > Hi all, > > > > > > > > I've been a member for a few years (active reader, passive > > poster) > > > but > > > > kind of scared with the idea of having a surgery.
