Guest guest
HI FOlks.. well.. a Friend put me onto this group. I had dropped out of all groups except my beloved secret WLS group.. I won't name it. I had Open RNY From Dr. Zahn at St. Luke's in PHX on Jan. 8,2002 the day before my 54th birthday. My weight was 366....! OUCH. This last week I now weigh 225 lbs. Went from wearing a tight 2XL to now wearing a new coat that is " L " shirts most often are XL and are loose..at last. A new suit came right off the regular rack... wow..wow. so.. I still have a long ways to go.. need the tummy tuck or I will never date again.. but I am this far thank heavens. One thing I would like to ask is have any grads who are a year out or more had problems with Depression..etc. I tried Suicide this July... and have had a terrible time getting my drugs adjusted.. ! SO.. the Dr's. are now trying total detox and taking me off nearly everything to see if that works.. seems to be working better now. Thanks Jimbo

I know they are expensive. I only see mine for meds. We do have absorption problems, so you cannot take timed released meds. It takes a long time for some meds to kick in. I am 61 years old and have had this major depressive disorder all of my life. The surgery so changed my body, that I have spent the last two years finding the right med. For me, it is LEXAPRO. However, it did not work for more than three weeks. Guest guest
Jim, Welcome to the group. Sounds like you are doing wonders. I have had some trouble with depression since surgery. I had gotten off of meds for almost a year and then started back. I was diagnosed with major depression in 1988 so I pretty well know the warning signs and was able to get back on meds. Sometimes it takes some experimenting even on those that do not have wls. I can only imagine it would be a little harder if you malabsorb.
