Guest guest
There are so many different involuntary body movements. I've had hand tremors, very fine head tremors (they have a fancy name but I can't remember it), blinking tics of my eyes, electric shock kind of jerks of my legs & feet. Gee, I sound like a circus act, don't i?!? Then there is the plain old falling over, falling out of chairs, falling into walls, falling in love (oops, got mixed up there!), falling out of the middle class (do I sound bitter? Nah, I'm fine. That reminds me of my favorite coffee mug of all time. It fits so many people, especially most of the women I know. There is a cow on its back with all 4 feet sticking up & the phrase "Really, I'm fine.") But I digress. That happens when I've stayed up too late, like little kids who get their second wind & turn into maniacs. Okay, I'm finished. Guest guest
Glad I was able to entertain you, ! Now today I feel like I have a hangover. Okay, that gives me an idea: If we didn't have sarc, we'd have to actually get drunk to feel hungover! Ramblin' RoseModerator A merry heart is good medicine. Guest guest
I read the post, and was entertained by Rose, Thank you for the smile today:) I have tremors mostly in my hands when I get too tired, or have used my hands a lot. I do fall over, or hit corners, I look like a cartoon old ladies in pictures, because I can not stand with my feet together, as I will start leaning, and if not caught I would go down. It took my family awhile to catch on to that when I would say, " I'M FALLING! I meant it, not a joke please catch me before I hit the ground. If I stand in one place even a few seconds, I will start to tip, I sort of trip, only there is nothing to trip over, I just say, WOW did you feel that Earth Quake?? I haven't really talked these over with my docs as right now I can still handle them, I just like I said stand now with my feet way apart, hose around my ankles, bright pink sneakers and a flower dress, just so you can get a picture:) (just kidding) about the clothes not the tripping in one place, with my feet not my mind:) Rose I think we've been together too long? Here's to a stand up day! Marla I hve been hving these for several years now. Mine gets so bad I will fall I use a walker. I tke baaclofen, it seems to help some but it doesn't knock them out. I hope you find something thst helps.
Guest guest
Marla, one time I was with my mom--she was in the car & I was standing outside looking for some place. I started to tip over & then started "windmilling" trying to keep my balance. I had a camera around my neck & one in my hands. I fell forward onto gravel, spraining one ankle, scraping & bruising both hands & both knees & getting a bad bruise from the camera around my neck getting mashed into my chest. I knew Mom would be frantic, so as I'm trying to get up I'm hollering, "I'm all right! I'm all right!" I finally get up & she's just gazing off into the distance; never even knew I fell! The cameras were scratched & dented, but still worked. I've had times that I was just standing & fell over backwards. I've broken bones in my foot. I'm much more cautious now, really feel like an old lady, holding onto everything, avoiding bumpy ground (not that smooth floors are that much easier). I hate creeping along like this, but I haven't had any really bad falls for awhile, so I guess I'll keep doing it. Ramblin' RoseModerator A merry heart is good medicine. Guest guest
That's too funny, but that would be my Mom too, she's 89 and doing pretty good, but when she see's me tip she'll ask if she can help me like get something, I just say no I'm good. I tell everyone I walk like a china doll, very slow with my feet close together, I'm very cautious too, I don't want to fall. So did any of those camera's take pictures of the fall, that would of been good. Oh the Joy's of Sacoidosis! Guest guest
No pics, unfortunately. I might have won some money on America's Funniest Videos. I often wonder how many of those people who laugh it off in the video are really hurt. But hey, for 10K or especially 100K, I'd laugh it off too!
