Guest guest
Sara, Thanks for your input. I met with Dr Sachs originally and I agree he is wonderful. Unfortunately he did not accept my insurance so I had to go with another surgeon. I got a referral for a Dr. Becker from the head of maxillofacial surgery at Maimonides Medical Center were my friend is a nurse. She said that Dr. Becker came highly recommended. Dr. Becker is one of the doctors apart of Long Island Oral & Maxillofacial. He is a very nice man but has advised that we will not have to do my chin as where Dr. Sachs advised that we would!! Also, he is now saying that I will have to do both jaws where Dr. Sachs advised that I would only have to do the top. Now I'm scarred because I don't want to look uneven! I am in the final stages of orthodontics and I know that things can change through this long process but I'm getting really nervous. Dr Becker advised that I should go in for surgery late August early September. I have already asked the doctor to speak with prior patients so I can see how their surgery went but I figured I would give this post a shot first. Thanks, le Sara wrote: le, Yup I used Dr. Sachs from LI and Carol, another member used Dr. Schwartz. I assume your talking about www.nycoms.com right? If so, they are great doctors. Dr. Sachs has been great throughout my whole surgery process. Very compassionate and very good at keeping me informed along the way of what exactly was going to be done to me. I'm sure Carol will say the same about Dr. Schwartz. I cannot recommend more highly Dr. Sachs:-) Are you considering either of them?
