I have to make back to back yogurts for vacation otherwise it won't be done in time (I didn't plan that one well enough!!)

Usually, when my yogurt is done I leave it in the container for 8 hours in the fridge before disturbing it but this time I need the container to make the next batch. Is it OK to just dump the newly done yogurt into another container and then let it sit?

Thanks!

Marla

I have another yogurt question: I make my yogurt in the oven, and if I need to use the oven for something else during the 24 fermentation I take the yogurt pot out, set it on top of the refrigerator, and then when the oven is back to 110 deg I put it back in, and add the amount of time it was out to the total time in the oven. So, if I needed the oven for 2 hours, then I add 2 hours to the time it stays in the oven. I've always had good taste and consistency; does anyone know if this is okay for the bacteria?

thanks!misha

Like you, I've never had a problem with the resulting yogurt. I wouldn't, and don't, worry about it. (As Ann Landers used to say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it.") nNow available. It made the yogurt much more sour and odd-looking, but if you have no other option, then it works.
