Guest guest Posted June 20, 2005 Report Share Posted June 20, 2005 Sara--YIPEEEEEEEE__whaoooooooo--YES!! Wasn't it a treat. I am so thrilled that my suggestion with the fork worked for you!! Why does everyone want us to use a spoon. It is curved and very difficult to get inside your motuh at this point.....now you can get crative!! I had yummy garlic and turnip mashed potatoes with steamed (and minshed ) broccoli and minched salmon for supper. It was divine. My husband reminded me that I still have soup in the cupboard but I told him he could have it!! You would laugh at me~I eat with a mirrow in hand. IF not, my kids walk by and hand me wet facelcloths HINT HINT!! haahh So the restaurant experience is still a ways off....bty--am I glad the docs here do not use splints..they sound aweful & I am doing great without one..I can open my jaw about 1/2-3/4 " now.....still a freaked out over the right side of my mouth being so 'dead'.....anyway--i was so happy for youwhen I read your post--HUGS!! Guest guest Posted June 21, 2005 Report Share Posted June 21, 2005 wow. . sara, your posts are the only ones i read when i get the massive list of new messages in my mailbox. they're just too entertaining to pass up. congrats on the semi-solid food. i've been wired shut for 5! weeks now and next monday i'm hoping that the surgeon will look at my x-rays and tell me that my bones have solidified enough to unwire me. it's so odd that you only had your surgery a couple weeks ago and your jaws for so mobile, and here i am 5 week after the fact and i'm actually beginning to see the benefits of a liquid diet. .. sooo quick, sooo easy, and 3 dish items to clean compared to the millions involved in a hardcore cooking session. keep up the posts! take care

& nbsp;

derrick

& gt;From: & quot;Sara & quot; & lt;sararegine@... & gt;
& gt;Reply-To: orthognathicsurgerysupport
& gt;To: orthognathicsurgerysupport
& gt;Subject: [Orthognathic Surgery Support ] A mini-milestone for me:-)
& gt;Date: Mon, 20 Jun 2005 18:17:01 -0000
& gt;
& gt;I was able to eat mashed potatoes with pieces of cooked ham and gruyere
& gt;cheese melted into them today for lunch.
