Becky,

You got a big laugh out of me! Yes, I made it to the end of your

novel. Why the conclusion is always the best part of the story..

(haha) Sounds like your recovery is going well! And don't feel bad

about not knowing what OS and OD and all that other lingo means. It

took me quite some time to figure all that out also! I thought maybe

it is true about what they say about blondes...(haha) But I pat

myself on the back because I am a pro now!

Have a Great Evening,

it was that long - i forgot some stuff i really want to tell you guys.

he said that i didn't need elastics right now because i fit perfectly

into my splint - and that it was unusual not to have to move a little

one way or the other - but it appeared that i was a special case :o)

first time i've ever been happy to be " special. " then he said that i

may need them in the future - because of the scar tissue i've had from

the cleft surgeries may try to force a relaspe. he said to pay close

attention - and to talk to the ortho if i notice anything funny.

i asked how many screws i had - i though maybe two? i was wrong. i

have four plates and 16 screws. who knew? how many screws to you

guys have in your heads? i just hope they don't come lose...come on -

you knew it was coming :P

aight - that's really it. i think.

becky,

I'm really glad to hear that your visit went so well, that the doc

thinks you are healing wonderfully, and that you are in a terrific

frame of mind. I hope it continues like that for you!

All the best,

Carol

becky,

I already had a few screws loose before my surgery. :) Don't think I

need any more!!! <silly giggles>

Congrats on finding our you're special. :) We already knew that!

Oh yeah, and I have four screws between my upper lip and my nose.

Take care,

Carol

Hi Becky,

It sounds like you are recovering well... I am scheduled to have a

bone graft from the hip on July 12th... Whoo hoo!!!Very excited..

right now I am actually recovering from a shoulder surgery last week.

I'm a teacher so I have to schedule surgeries in the summer if I need

them. I just have a quick question for you. I have not gone for my

pre op yet but, did you just have a bone graft done? Also, does

everyone get a splint? And... how long on soft foods? Just curious

if you could answer these for me, I would greatly appreciate it!!!

Hope you are doing well!!!

Beth
