Guest guest
Get the italian tunas with just olive oil and salt. yum. I don't have any creative recipes, I just eat them when I need something fast and don't have any other protein to eat.To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Thu, July 22, 2010 3:15:46 PMSubject: Fish and SCD Hi, I just noticed on the "stages" from Pecanbread that fish is not indicated anywhere. I know Elaine mentions it in the Intro diet and I'm looking for some creative ideas for canned tuna, since somewhere (can't find it now) I read that canned fish was ok as long as nothing else was added. I did come across this web site with some SCD recipes I thought I'd share: http://www.dflock. co.uk/colitis/ recipes/recipes. htmlkt
Guest guest
Here is a tuna recipe to try: Slice an avacado in half, remove pit Fill each avacado slice with a heap of: tuna, homemade mayo or homemade yogurt, your favorite herbs/spices, salt and pepper wrap in foil and bake at 350* for a little while, maybe 10 minutes... You can also top with a slice of cheddar cheese instead of foil I can't say exact baking time, and we did this once on the BBQ and once on my car engine. There we were stuck in a lousy grocery store on vacation, and not even their rotisserie chicken was legal, so my handy dandy boyfriend heated them up (wrapped in foil) on my car engine. We drove across the street to run one more errand, and wa'la! they were heated up just right, and I was back to being a happy camper - SCD 7 weeks > > Hi, I just noticed on the " stages " from Pecanbread that fish is not > indicated anywhere. Guest guest
I ate broiled fish and canned tuna, sardines, etc, from the beginning. I'm not sure at what stage but that seemed like a light and easy meal at the time. I would cut or buy smaller fish so it would broil fast and I wouldn't have to worry about cooking in the heat--Houston in summer. No creative recipes here either, just cooked, peeled and deseeded veggies (steamed when you can) and it's good. I have started getting those steamer baggies of veggies but it's probably only big enough for one to two people. Maybe since it's geared for autistic kids? <g> They can be kind of finicky. Please be careful of the recipes at the site you posted -- I notice several illegals have crept in, such as " fish sauce " in one recipe -- there is not legal commercial fish sauce recipe, and the use of fructose as a sweetener. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle

I think I was half asleep when I wrote this. I meant, there is no legal fish sauce. Also, although fructose in fruit is okay, fructose used as a sweetener instead of sugar is not, because it is often not a pure monosaccharide, and in any case, it's like date sugar, which is also a refined carbohydrate. I made Chinese beef and vegetables, with oyster sauce this week. I have also done shrimp, catfish, and oyster Fitzpatrick, Rockefeller, and Bienville. I made oyster, shrimp, and artichoke bisque. (If you have the yogurt made, this is super simple.) I do broiled blackened catfish. Crabmeat or shrimp scampi with Cajun seasoning. Did you have favorite recipes pre-SCD? We can help you make them legal, if possible. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
Thanks for the heads up on the recipes on that site. I got some comments from others about those recipes also. I didn't go through them too carefully, and am still new to this - so still learning. :-)kt> >Hi, I just noticed on the "stages" from > >Pecanbread that fish is not indicated > >anywhere.
