I'm not trying to be an alarmist by any means, but some types of gynecological cancers only give bloating and thickening of the waist as a symptom. If the issue with your waist is something new and lasts more than a couple of weeks, and your weight remains the same or goes down, consider following up with your GYN. Guest guest
Depending on how much weight you have lost, it may be excess skin. It may also be that this is the hardest place for you to loose weight. It could be that your weight is shifting and has just landed there. I had the same problem before the panniculectomy and then recently with the development of a hernia. Yes. That is why some of us wear larger sizes than others. Do you exercise? Guest guest
I'd consider seeing the ob/gyn, too. Several years ago after months of dieting I noticed that my abdomen was protruding more even though my weight was much less. Turned out that I had a non-cancerous condition called adenomyosis. I'm probably spelling it incorrectly and not explaining it perfectly, either, but it was a condition that resulted in the uterus getting ever larger due to tissue growing back into the lining rather than being shed normally or invading the abdominal cavity as endometriosis would. At the point where I realized something was out of kilter and went to the doctor the uterus had grown to approximately the size it was at about month five of a pregnancy. So there's more than one gynecological problem that can cause enlarged abdomen; not all of them life threatening, but you have to see a doctor to find out for sure. >When was your last GYN check up?
