I,m 5 1/2 week post-op,..... getting the splint and all the metal work

removed on thurs.....My chin is still numb but my gums are starting to

wake up and my bottom teeth light up when I brush , and what's weird

is when I shave, just coming in contact with my chin sends shock waves

into all my bottom teeth ....Any one have the same experience ????....

I'm starting to think Root Canals....

Thanks

Hi Bob

I was wondering how you were doing. This was your second surgery right?

So it seems that second time was lucky. Thank goodness. I'm so happy

for you. As for the shaving question I'm afraid that I can't help you

on that but I can tell you that I do get shock waves to my bottom teeth

every once in a while and I just think it's everything reawakening

nerve wise. Still I wouldn't definitely flag this to your doctor on

Thursday. Also, if you're using an electric razor that might be making

the shocks worse. Try a regular razor if you aren't already.

Anyway, good luck with the dewiring and desplinting on Thursday. Let us

know how it goes!

I meant definitely talk about it with your surgeon if you're

concerned. Sorry:-(

It's probably just your nerves waking up (a good thing!), but yeah,

check w/your surgeon.

Are you getting your braces off? So soon? (I can dream!)

I'd say way too soon to be worried about this. But your doc (surgeon)

is the best one to talk with about it.

I think your teeth have been " shocked. " Mine are really unhappy, still,

with electronic toothbrushes, although I'm trying because my docs have

recommended them.

Don't volunteer for a root canal until somebody who knows his or her

stuff tells you you need one!

Weird, my bottom teeth are doing EXACTLY the same thing. If I touch

them, nothing. But when I wash my chin I get a shocking (pain?)

sensation through those bottom teeth. It is really hard to explain,

but I know exactly what you mean. I'm not sure how to explain it to

the docs...let me know how you think you will explain it to them. I

hope it means the nerves are waking up, but why the weird

sensations. I dunno.
