Guest guest
Hi Kristy, With me it took about a little over two months to get my insurance approvals (being that they will cover the surgery and then that they will actually pay for it)....that was two processes. After my consultation with my my surgery was about 6 weeks later. In my case though I lost that surgeon due to malpractice insurance. That ended up being a blessing!!!!! Once I got my new surgeon, had my consultation with him, pretesting was one week later and then surgery was two weeks after that. I didn't think the waiting time for me was bad at all. The initial insurance approvals were made through the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays so I thought I made at real good. Lots of luck to you and keep us posted. Guest guest
I really began the process last December, but had to change hospitals, doctors, the whole nine yards. I began working with my current surgeon and hospital in March, Got my approval on July 16 and my surgery date is Sept. 20. So for the process at this hospital it took me a little over 6 months. But I also had to do a 3 month dietician program in there too. Dora in Tennessee Lap/Open RNY 9/20/2004 Vanderbilt Hospital
Guest guest
That is funny, I have Aetna and I was not turned down but it took me a lot longer than you. See, even in the same insurance company they treat different people different ways. Wow, the both of you had the surgery. Good for you!!!
