Cortney,

Congratulations on your great weight loss and accomplishments. It is nice to

hear those comments about " looking good " . It's still hard for me to accept

though. I've been labeled at my church as the incredible shrinking

woman....lol. Keep up the good work and enjoy!!!

What a crack up about the Incredible Shrinking Woman. There are

only about three people at my church that know I had surgery but

thier husbands have dubbed me the same! haha! Gald to hear I am

not nuts about feeling wierd about accepting compliments.

I'm not sure where that started, but I think it's pretty much the main

comment from everyone, I get it too :). It's nice I think I feel it and

see it the most when I work out and I don't feel that my rolls are

smaller than they used to be :). Will be nice to get rid of the bra

overhang :).

i have not been on here much in the last few days. When i saw the

post about military wives i just had to reply. My hubby works on a

sub we have about 5 years left in. I had gotten turned down by the

military insurance and hopefully Health net will be better than

Seirra health. anyway i found out my insurance denied me on all days

it had to be friday the 13th. But so far it has on been rescheuled

for Oct 6th. i am still waiting to hear back from my dr on a new

referral letter, hopefully it will go thru fast.

Anyway the Surgeon doing my surgery is Dr Bell at Yale/ New Haven

hospital he does support groups in New Haven and in New London

(closer to me) But his office staff is awesome they told me if i

have any questions i can call any time. They give alot of

informaition to guide you by after the surgery, But that is quite a

drive to go to support groups, I think alot of it is i know the

internet group will alway be there and if i have to up and move (oh

no not that) then that group will not be at my disposal. So i am

very thankful for all the info i am getting here on this site.

Well you guys have a good night

WOO HOO shore duty the end of the month :)

Take care

Patty,

It sounds like you have found a really great doctor to do your

srugery. I don't have any complaints per say about my surgeon, he

did a phenomenal job and i have had not one complication (knock on

wood) and I only have about a 3 " incision just below my sternum so I

can't complain (the surgeon has little hands apparently so he makes

small incisions! yeah!). Why won't the military pay for your

surgery? We have TriCare Prime and I assumed all military had the

same? Maybe I am wrong? I know out here that it would seem

everyone that even is referred gets the insurance to approve the

srugery ... of course I suppose they don't even let you get past teh

first referall unless they are pretty sure that you are a candidate

surgery will approve. Good luck on the insurance! Are you in New

Hampshire? I recognized the names New London and New Haven - my

sister in law lives in Sunapee. Talk to you later.

Hello again, Yes i have tricare Prime. They do cover the surgery but

along with being 100lbs over your ideal weight you also have to have

another problem. When i got my origonal referral my PCP was on

emergercy leave. So the dr i got my referral from did not know i had

past problems (and apaerntly did not know the guidelines for

approval) So after the denial at the last min I went and saw my PCP

and she knows what they are looking for to approve it. I did some

bloodwork for her and she faxed the new referral letter to the

surgeon on Monday, Hopefully this goes thru (fingers crossed)

Well some of our support group lives in Portsmouth, when the boat

gets home from deployment they go into overhaul. But,we stayed in

Groton he is going to instructor duty here. When they port he comes

home and he will be home in time for my next surgery date(Oct 6th)

as long as it happens then.

Well take care all
