Guest guest
Hi Judy, Thank for the hints on facial exercises. I'll be telling my " puppy " to go to " church " . >It took me about 20 minutes to get just 1 oz. down - but wow, not >only did it taste fantastic, but I felt really proud of myself >too!! I had to sit in front of a mirror to do this (because of the >numbness)...so it wasn't a pretty picture watching myself struggle >to do this, but I was determined and I did it!! Eating definitely takes a lot of energy. I got some baby food peach cobbler and aspirated into a small syringe and squirted it in. Hmm it tastes so good. Congrats on figuring a way to use a cup. I had bought a sippee cup, but haven't needed it - at least so far. > I don't have a peridex rinse, doctor never mentioned it or gave me > any. Is it prescription? I'm using just warm salt water rinses. > I'm going to take a shower now too, I have company coming in just > one hour so I'd better get a move on it!! The peridex was prescribed by surgeon, but my insurance didn't want to pay for it. I'm going to raise a little _____ with them as it should be covered as post op medication! Warm salt water probably is just as good. I saw your post about discharge. I still have some from the nose, sometimes it is clear, sometimes sl. bloody, and sometimes ucky. It's getting better with each day though. Getting tired so I'll stop for now. Shirley
Guest guest
Hi Shirley, You are welcome on the facial exercise hints. I'm just now reading and catching up on all the emails....I decided to really take it easy today. I had such a migraine yesterday on top of hurting so much...so just wanted to make today a real easy day on myself. I feel better, so it's working. Haven't needed any migraine medication yet today...and so far only needed liquid Motrin twice. So that's not too bad. That's the best I've done so far. Tomorrow may be a 'take it easy day' for me too. I've discovered that sometimes it's good to do 'nothing'! One of those times is right now after this major of a surgery. Hope you are feeling better too. The peach cobbler you had sounds yummy! (P.S. it's beginning to get easier and easier to drink from a little tiny SOLO cup, but I have to go really slow or I choke on the liquid). Take care, Judy
Guest guest
Judy, I survived on using those cups for about the first 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. They worked perfectly - soft and small, easy to handle and if I spilled it it wasn't too much! You go girl! Carol > Hi Shirley, > You are welcome on the facial exercise hints.
