Guest guest
Did someone say that raw members of the crucifer family have anti-fungal properties? Maybe that explains the die-off sort of reaction I had last week after one of my juicing days? Artful Carol Experimental Juicer

Guest guest
a mixture of cabbage and strawberry juice (juiced them myself, obviously, didn't buy it) helped me get out of a flare. It's awesome stuff. Guest guest
I'm curious too! I know it takes lots of veggies to get a little juice. About what ratio of the two and how much do you drink a day? This is cool Stacey- I am going to try it! -Joanna > > > > Cabbage is considered to have antifungal properties. > > > > > > > > Kim M. > > > > SCD 6 years > > > > Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction 6+ years > > > > neurological & spinal deterioration 3+ years > > > > > > > > >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> > > > > Did someone say that raw members of the crucifer family have > > anti-fungal properties? Guest guest
A lady in our old neighborhood cured her ulcer with daily cabbage juice. So it wouldn't surprise me if it's healing for the whole gut. a mixture of cabbage and strawberry juice (juiced them myself, obviously, didn't buy it) helped me get out of a flare. It's awesome stuff. Stacey
Guest guest
I used both because I figured they might each have something different to offer in terms of nutrients. Just be sure to remove the outer leaves and then soak the cabbage for about 10 mins in luke warm water before juicing. Guest guest
::laughs:: I'm not sure I can give you a ratio. I usually just throw stuff in the juicer and add more strawberries until I think it tastes okay. I'll try to measure things out the next time I make it Oh but this site: http://www.ehow.com/how_5033218_cure-ulcerative-colitis-cabbage-juice.html is what I originally used when I found out about how effective cabbage juice can be. I didn't drink it 4 times a day. I think I did maybe twice. Stacey > > I'm curious too! I know it takes lots of veggies to get a little juice. Can you help me understand what benefits are derived from first soaking one's cabbage prior to juicing? Guest guest
I really just followed the directions here: http://www.ehow.com/how_5033218_cure-ulcerative-colitis-cabbage-juice.html And they say to soak it. It might make for more cabbage juice as the cabbage soaks up the water? I'm not really sure. But regardless, it worked well for me Stacey > > Just be sure to remove the outer leaves and then soak the cabbage for about 10 mins in luke warm water before juicing. > > Stacey > > Hi Stacey...I've dabbled a bit in juicing cabbage (along with spinach and mix it with my legal apple cider for sweetness)...but have never SOAKED my cabbage. But regardless, it worked well for me Can't argue with what works. Ever seen the kids' science experiment, where you trim the end of a stalk of celery and then stick it in some water which had red food coloring in it? And then come back a few hours later to see the red dye drawn up into the capillaries of the celery stalk? Same principle. The cabbage has been dehydrating since it was picked. So you put it in some water for awhile and let it rehydrate before you juice it. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
