Guest guest
Carol, I can talk miles better but I still have a slight lisp because of the new shape of my mouth. My tongue doesn't quite understand where it's supposed to go. Eatingwise I'm still restricted to a liquid/soft diet so I've been eating a lot of gazpacho and today I had Tiramisu to celebrate. Very yummy but my stomach had a hard time digesting it since it's been on liquid for so long. I tried eating some wild rice salad for dinner tonight and the rice grains were too hard. Same thing with some papaya so I'm still a way off eating normally But I am so pleased with the results that I don't care. I keep on opening and closing my mouth and can't believe how everything fits together so perfectly. Dr Sachs and my ortho Dr. Diamond really did an amazing job! I can also open quite wide surprisingly. I was able to keep my mouth open today for long enough for my OD to do all that he had to do and my jaw joints didn't hurt at all. Amazing! But what about you?! Less than 24 hours and you'll be unwired and desplinted! By the way, my desplinting experience was absolutely painless. Just as for Kimberley the scariest part was the clipping sound of the wires when they snipped them off and it felt sooooo strange when they took the splint off. Dr. Sachs was impressed by how clean my splint was so I guess I've been doing a good job with the teeth cleaning. Anyway, enough about me, let me know how tomorrow goes!!! I can't wait to hear all about it. I'm willing to bet that you'll be very pleased with the results!!! Guest guest
Sara, Thanks for all the details. I'll be posting about my appointment today ... later on, once I read through and catch up. For now, suffice it to say I'm smiling! Good luck tomorrow morning with Dr. S. I hope your next stop will be Italy! Keep in touch!!!
