Guest guest
Steph, I am with you ... all the way. It's been the metal aspect of recovery that has been my downfall. I've been splinted and wired shut for two months now. I'm seeing my Surgeon in the AM and am hoping to change all that. I'm anxious and scared ... but excited too. Congrats on your splint removal! Hang in there ... and vent when/if you need to! Hugs, Carol > I had my 2nd post op visit yesterday and it seems that Sara and I > are " de-splinting " buddies. Guest guest
Whooohooo Steph! Way to go! You actually got the splint off a whole week before I did after only 2 weeks so that means you're healing very well. I know the elastics suck but I think you'll have them on for less than you expect. My ortho took mine off today and said I didn't need to wear elastics anymore. We'll see what the OS says on Thursday but think of it this way, if you diligently wear the elastics now then you get to take them off earlier. And yes, the psychological aspect of this surgery is probably the toughest part of it. But we are all troupers and on we march! Guest guest
Sara, What do you mean you got your elastics off?! That's awesome! So, you got the splint out sooner than you thought and the elastics out sooner too?! That is just the best luck ever! How does it feel? Can you eat/chew/talk? Are you still set to leave on Thursday? Just thinkin' about cha ... Carol > > I had my 2nd post op visit yesterday and it seems that Sara and I > > are " de-splinting " buddies.
