Guest guest
, I only wish my bills were that small. I'm about $70K in the hole for my Surgeon and the Hospital. And I have no word yet on how much my Insurance is actually going to cover. It sounds like you have a good plan! Take care, Carol > Whoa!!! Guest guest
Oh Geez....that's awful....hopefully the insurance will end up covering the majority of it. Its funny, about a year and a half ago, I was so bummed because my insurance at the time (Cigna) denied my surgery because it wasn't functionally significant (Yeah, right, tell that to my now PINK gums:-), as they were very dark red before). I would have had to pay $6000 out of pocket if they even said yes to my surgery. I guess something better was in store for me:-), and I'm happy and blessed with the amount I have to pay. (although, I do pay almost $900 a month for my insurance (boss quit contributing for premiums, and I wasn't about to give it up)) Good luck with yours, they better cover a huge chunk! > > Whoa!!! Guest guest
, Thanks for your support. I'm sure that once all the red tape is taken care of, my Insurance will cover a lot. I believe the percentage was 70, in regards to the surgery. So ... I've got my fingers crossed and my hands in prayer position! Wow! I pay about $240 per month for my Insurance (medical/dental) for both myself and my Son. I guess some pay where others don't and vice versa. It's all relative. And I guess it all works out exactly as it's supposed to. Take care, Carol > > > Whoa!!! Guest guest
Whoa ! I can't wait to see my hospital bill. My surgeon's fee's arrived the other day...7,224! I already had to fork over almost 4,000 for the rhinoplasty. I wonder how much my hospital bill will be since I volunteered to pay extra for a private room (my husband snores...I didn't wan't him to keep any other healing patients awake). Congrats on the low out of pocket charges!! Steph. > Whoa!!! I knew it would be high, but my goodness....for my 3 1/2 hour > surgery and 2 nights in the hospital, a whopping $18,346. Guest guest
I can vouch for those numbers. I had a mandibular advancement, 2 hours in the OR, 1 night (semi-private, no privates available)and the total was about $20,000. After discounting, about $7,000 and to me $342. Makes you wonder who pays the full-freight on this and other medical procedures. The only irritating thing about the billing is that my Insurance company sent a " detailed " statement from the hospital which included about 18 lines marked " miscellaneous " and ranging from $3 to $6K. I asked the Insurance company exactly what they wanted me to approve based on that. I also just started getting the individual bills from the surgeon, anthesia guy, x-ray guy, etc. One was for $3.74 -- what a pain. Bad surprise came withmy phone bill which included an automatic charge from the Hospital for phone service (unused by me during my stay). Didn;t know they could automatically charge your hoome phone for that. I told them they couldn't but we'll see. Glad I have insurance for all this. Queelace > > Whoa!!! Guest guest
I just today mailed my check for $6,304 (for lower advancement, including outpatient surgery, facility, records, splint). I still can't get a straight answer from insurance how much I can expect to be reimbursed, but probably somewhere between $2,000-$3,000. Guest guest
Way to go Michele! It is great to have such a huge burdon lifted regarding the expenses. I wish it were that way for everyone on this. It ilets you focus on the healing issues. I am really happy for you! Fran > Whoa!!!
