Guest guest
I froze up at the consoltation too. And remembered all the questions later that I should have asked. I'm sure there will be plenty of time for questions later I guess. Beth
Guest guest
Try to relax -- I know, easier said than done... But I do think you'll find that all that worry isn't usually justified, at least when you get a couple of weeks' perspective on it. One idea for the " freezing " at the conference with the surgeon. Write down your questions. Mail or fax a copy to him a couple of days before your appointment, and take another copy with you. I did that, and my surgeon answered almost all of them, without notes and without my asking a thing. I followed him through my list, as he went. Guest guest
About remembering to ask questions to the OS about the surgery....I've found what works really good for me is to write down a list of my questions and concerns before the visit and then bring it along with me when I go. Maybe you could try this next time? It really helps when you're too nervous to remember everything. Judy > I finally have a surgery date set for the 25th of July. Guest guest
Congratulations on your date being set! I know that must be a relief to have a date to work with! Guest guest
Absolutely Judy, that's a great suggestion and just what I did. I also asked my OS if he used email and if he had an address I could email him at to ask him any questions I might forget. Sure enough I did forget a few (or some new ones occurred to me) and he was great at answering them via email. Sara > > I finally have a surgery date set for the 25th of July. Guest guest
Hello I originally wrote the first post...Well, I did write everything I wanted to ask on a notepad, but we started discussing the cutting of the bone...etc...my mind went to the moon and stars but, It was still daylight outside..hehe.....I like your idea about the email, because I still have tons of question and I'd rather be face to face with my OS. Oh well guess I could ask them when I sign the consent forms. Sanya > > > I finally have a surgery date set for the 25th of July. Guest guest
Hi Sara - I love the email address idea...that's a great one and I'm going to ask tomorrow at my appointment if that's an option for if and when I have any further questions or concerns. Thanks! Judy Absolutely Judy, that's a great suggestion and just what I did. I also asked my OS if he used email and if he had an address I could email him at to ask him any questions I might forget.
