Guest guest
One of my comfort foods from when I was a kid is spaghetti noodles with a sauce that my Dad made by combining butter, Velveeta and Ketchup. Sounds gross, but it's deLICious. I also put ketchup on mac & cheese. ---------------------------------------- Terry Mayers 5DollarHosting.com http://www.5dollarhosting.com .... because it shouldn't cost a fortune to make a fortune! Guest guest
um I order all my steaks well done, including filet mignon. and Ketchup? it goes on almost everything including mashed potatoes. pre WLS, I would make macaroni and put ketchup on it. All meat is fair game for ketchup, especially now as it adds more moisture. I have never put ketchup on filet tho. It is a rare meal that does not include ketchup, I guess that is how I get my tomatoes in as I hate plain tomatoes. Guest guest
Now I am a med well to well done type of gal (don't figure since I'm in cow country). I will tolerate a slight bit of pink but not blood. Although I love catsup, I would NEVER consider putting it on pasta. That even sounds yuck. Guest guest
I love grilled cheese dipped in tomato soup, if there was no tomato soup around though, ketchup worked fine. I don't really eat grilled cheese or tomato soup anymore though - no reason why, I guess it just doesn't " tickle my fancy " like it did before. Everyone thought I was weird for putting ketchup on mac & cheese (except my Dad & uncle, who both did it also). Then I met someone who put sugar on her mac & cheese. She won the " strange ways to eat mac & cheese " contest. ---------------------------------------- Terry Mayers 5DollarHosting.com http://www.5dollarhosting.com .... because it shouldn't cost a fortune to make a fortune! Guest guest
Ok, ya got me on that one! That's one of my all time favorite comfort food meals. Grilled cheese and tomato and rice soup. But the grilled cheese has to be cut into four triangles and the soup must be made with milk and have a pat of butter swimming on top! (and some days I wonder how I got to 500 lbs?!) Haven't had this treat since my preop days <sigh> Sue in Las Vegas who went to Albertson's to buy an avocado but for some unknown reason just couldn't justify spending a buck on the durn thing! Guest guest
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup (made with mild of course!) was my all time favorite comfort food! I don't eat bread and since Cambell's Tomato has like 10 gms of sugar per serving I haven't ventured there post op (almost 4 years). New comfort food (I'm sick, tired, feel like poop) is egg drop soup! Marjie Re: Another Catsup Blasphemy I like grilled cheese + tomato soup! But I have dumped on that combo! LOL! Guest guest
I love grilled cheese, but can only manage 1/2. Tomato soup was a fave before surgery super hot with cubes of cheddar cheese melting in it. I haven't had it since surgery, cuz if you'll note...it's about 13 grams of sugar per serving....and that's not counting the milk I'd add to it....and it just isn't tomato soup made with water. Ugh! Now put a slice of fresh tomato on the sandwich before grilling...and that's pretty good! Regards~ Jacque I don't really eat grilled cheese or tomato soup anymore though - no reason why, I guess it just doesn't " tickle my fancy " like it did before.
