Guest guest
Hi Judy, It will probably be a while still before you feel comfortable sleeping flat again. I've never heard of anyone hurting anything though by lying flat too soon. With my previous surgeries, I didn't feel like lying flat for at least 4-6 weeks post-op. This time I was given the clearance to lie down while still in the hospital but I still feel too much pressure in my face to do that yet. I'm jealous of your bed. :-) I'm still surrounded by a thousand pillows. I don't know how my husband finds room on his side of the bed. minirascal > I'm still sleeping semi-upright after 18 days. Guest guest
Hi , Well, I'll just keep sleeping upright for a while longer, not a huge deal for me I guess...moreso for my hubby, who wants to lay flat. He'll just have to keep putting up with it too - lol. As far as my bed, yes it's wonderful. We got it last year, and I still can't quite raving about it ;-) Judy I'm still sleeping semi-upright after 18 days. I've tried laying back more (I have a Tempur Pedic adjustable bed, so I can adjust it with a remote control)...but when I lay back too far and fall asleep that way I wake up with more jaw pain and a bit of a headache to boot. I'm wondering if there's a point at which it's ok to lay back farther? I did have a lot done, so I'm thinking this is why I'm still having trouble with this issue yet. My guess is that it's going to be a while before I'm able to lay flat again....(?) Guest guest
Judy, I believe it's what you're comfortable with. I asked my OS Tuesday (12 days post op), if I could sleep on my side. He said it was ok. My problem is sometimes it does make my jaws hurt more, or my ears (the pinna-outer part of ear) hurt as they are very pressure sensitive. I guess let your body be your guide as to what position you sleep in. I'm like you I have a ton of pillows, but am trying to get back to sleeping flatter as it's easier on my back. You're bed sounds so.... comfortable. I'll have to consider that for my next bed. Shirley
Guest guest
I started sleeping flat after 3 weeks post-op but didn't revert totally back to flat until 4 weeks post-op. I still wake up sometimes paranoid that I've squashed something but I know it's more my paranoia playing tricks on me than it actually happening.
