Guest guest
I'm in Nashville, TN. I've had 2 visits with my nutritionist so far. I've already done the sleep study thing and the psych eval. I've got to go for a 2nd sleep study because they determined that I've got mild sleep apnea. Then, I've got to also go for a breathing test because something about my body not taking in enough oxygen or something. I'm just anxious to get all this behind me. > > > MY ASS! last night i went to my primary physician to be put on > > > a " physician supervised weight loss plan " > > > > > > what a joke! she weighs me, tells me to go on a 1500 calorie > diet > > > and that she would see me in a month. > > > HOW CAN insurance companies prefere that over weight watchers > > where i > > > am weighed in weekly- given a diet plan-keep a food journal and > > have > > > support! the doctor gave me one sheet of paper that told me > foods > > to > > > avoid--took my copay..billed my insurance company and i think its > > > obserd! Guest guest
, I'm sorry but in my opinion I'd be looking elsewhere, for someone I was more comfortable with. Guest guest
You guys are lucky that your doc even said anything to you guys.. My primary care says nothing but " when is the surgery " and the doc that is the " bouncer " for my surgeon as I call her only says " lose weight i'll see you in a few months.. keep going to support group meetings. and sends me home > > MY ASS! last night i went to my primary physician to be put on > > a " physician supervised weight loss plan " > > > > what a joke! she weighs me, tells me to go on a 1500 calorie diet > > and that she would see me in a month. > > HOW CAN insurance companies prefere that over weight watchers > where i > > am weighed in weekly- given a diet plan-keep a food journal and > have > > support! the doctor gave me one sheet of paper that told me foods > to > > avoid--took my copay..billed my insurance company and i think its > > obserd! Guest guest
Most insurance policies do not pay for doctor supervised weight loss and you would have to pay out of pocket and so the doctor would charge you many times more what they would be paid by the insurance company according to their contracts and since in most cases you cannot afford this for a couple of months let alone 6 months it is another way to avoid paying for surgery. Simple as that. When I was diagnosed as diabetic my doctor at least did find a diabetic education group and gave me two videos to watch and return. Those videos said is was a simple thing to lose the weight needed, just buy spagetti sauce without sugar as one of the main ingredients and walk a few blocks everyday and be happy. But that did qualify as a physician led weight loss program. anne > You guys are lucky that your doc even said anything to you guys..
