Guest guest
, I can really relate. I'm glad that you are able to work. In 2003 I had to give up my 20-year career/vocation as a certified nurse-midwife, after attending about 3000 births. It became too much of a safety issue, with me having to depend on the nurses & other midwives to back me up. That was a big loss to deal with, as it meant losing a big part of my identity, my social life, my immediate income & my future financial security. But you know what, that was 7 years ago & I'm still in a home, with plenty of food (too much!) to eat, all the essentials & many of the luxuries, family that love & support me. I know that most people in the world would consider my little home a palace & that I live like royalty. And they would be right. I am truly blessed & I have gotten better at recognizing that over the years. There is a song from the movie "White Christmas" called Count Your Blessings. The chorus goes, "When you're weary & you can't sleep, count your blessings instead of sheep, and you'll fall asleep counting your blessings." I actually do that sometimes & it works for me. Ramblin' RoseModerator A merry heart is good medicine.
