Austria,

I think two weeks is standard -- it's what my surgeon recommended. I

took two weeks off but actually was back to work on Day 10. It's a

little tiresome, I've been leaving a little early, but I'm more or

less fine. However, some people need more time. The fatigue and

swelling can hang on ... I'd say, if you can get three weeks, take it!

Hi Austria,

I had a Lefort 3-piece on June 28th and will be returning back to

work next Tuesday. 2 weeks is what my OS originally recommended, but

due to a fever and a little bit slower recovery than expected, he

extended that to a total of 4 weeks. I am still concerned about

returning back to work full time due to lack of energy and still

quite a bit of swelling, but I am hopeful my coworkers will be kind

enough to allow me plenty of breaks as needed.

I have heard some say on this board that 2 weeks was plenty of time

off for them, but have heard many say that they needed more time. I

agree with Luna in that if you can take 3 weeks off do it!

Austria-

I think it depends on what type of work you do as well. My OS said

about 2 weeks, but because I work in an office setting with meetings

and phone conferences and such it would probably be 3 weeks. I have

a ways to go though... getting braces on Monday 7/25 and will have

them for about 16 months. -Lori

Hey,

Thanks. Yeah, I am a secretary so most of my job is on the phone. I

think that I have decided to take the entire 3 weeks off since I can

get them.
