Guest guest
, I did some recalculation after I posted what I thought was my 20 gram ceiling and realized it was more like 14 grams (the amount in one Edy's Coconut Bar!), which is still apparently generous by " popular " standards. But I can do this and not get the stage one dumping sleepies. At least I know that there is SOME limit to the amount of sugar I can consume. Sometimes the fear of dumping is the only thing which keeps me away from the Entenmann's display at the supermarket. Because of this list, I have long since abandoned my old Detour/blueberry lunch, and substituted UNsweetened soy milk for the skim milk in my cereal, so no more sleepies there either. Actually, because of this list, I have been alot more careful about sugar consumption and I have to say I have found it makes a difference in handling cravings. About the only thing I haven't been able to modify is my choice in salad dressing: I am obsessed with Ken's Lite Raspberry Walnut Dressing (6 grams sugar per 2T serving, and I generally have 4Ts on my huge salads). I am slavish to this dressing! I could chug it if I wasn't trying to behave myself! LOL! I think this is a truism: NEVER get between a girl and her favorite salad dressing! Guest guest
I love Ken's salad dressings! My fav's are the Lite Ceasar and the Balsamic Vinaigrette. But, all of his dressings are good, and I'm like you, just sooooo picky about my salad dressing! Guest guest
it is possible to dump from fruit. My mom dumps from fruit. I have never pushed past one fruit a day and at that I split it in half. Carbs can also make you very sleepy, depends on the person and how their chemicals are inside that counteract insulin spikes from high glycemic carbs. When you are feeling sleepy, notice what you just ate in the last meal so you can trouble shoot this. If it's a high glycemic carb, it's quite possible that you are tired from that. I get really tired from things like: pasta, white breads, crackers, popcorn, in certain quantities. And if it's this, it is not dumping. I had this prior to surgery hehe and it's just your insulin levels spiking and crashing.
