Guest guest
Anyone have a good scd recipe for grilled peaches? I have peaches about ready to go bad and I'm grilling out anyway - I thought I might grill my peaches - if I knew how! Marla

Guest guest
Oh, yes! I do this all the time. Just cut your peaches in half, and remove the pit. Melt a little butter and brush it over the cut sides, then place the peaches face down on the grill. (Depending on what else you've been grilling, you might want to put down a little tinfoil.) Keep the grill on a fairly low setting. I find that the peaches usually take about 10-15 minutes, but it'll depend on your grill and how " well done " you want your peaches. I just serve mine with a drizzle of honey and a bit of cinnamon. I also expect that you could make a great " filling " to serve in the middle of the peaches using yogurt or DCCC. (Being non-dairy, I haven't tried this.) Baking peaches the same way -- face down on a baking sheet in an oven at about 350 -- works well too. Guest guest
I would cook them down into a peach bbq sauce, meat glaze. You can goodle up peach bbq sauce recipes, they sound awesome, in another few weeks, when my peaches are ready for picking, I am going to try it! I have made cherry bbq sauce, and it was delish on pork ribs! here is a link to the cherry bbq sauce: http://farmgirldiet.blogspot.com/2010/07/cherry-picking.html I read a peach recipe that included jalepeno peppers & sweet onion. You simmer everything together, then puree it. I still can't handle tomatoes, but I find that these other fruit sauces are even tastier. - SCD 10 weeks > > > > > > Anyone have a good scd recipe for grilled peaches? Guest guest
I leave the skin on, yes, but I'm at a point where fruit skins don't bother my digestion. If you have difficulty with the skin, you can grill them fine without -- I'd just recommend that you brush a little extra butter over the peaches to keep them from drying out as they grill. The skins are also very easy to remove once grilled. Guest guest
We grill peaches and pears the same way: pit and slice with skin still on, brush with legal balsamic vinegar ( It's the pricey real stuff, not the supermarket illegal kind) and very little honey. Grill on low to allow the sugars to caramelize and eat! If you have trouble with skins, they slide right off after you take them off the grill. ( I can't take credit for this one--my guy Gordon came up with it) This is my absolute favorite dessert. Terry
Guest guest
They do. If you slice them up. I'd take a large cookie sheet and line it with parchment paper. Place the sliced frozen peaches on it and make sure they aren't touching. When they are frozen remove them to a ziploc bag or other freezer safe container. In the past, I've grilled peaches but I just brushed them with olive oil and then used them in a salsa. Guest guest
A nice filling for grilled peaches is dry cottage cheese blended into a puree with fresh orange juice and a bit of cinnamon.
