Guest guest
Tomatoes are pretty high in sugar. Maybe it was the tomatoe soup? Just a guess though. Guest guest
Tomato soup + bread, I'm guessing. I just have to be careful and not pour a large bowl of soup. One liil sandwich and not graze them. Thanks, Vitalady, Inc. Guest guest
Your tolerance level is way up there, by our stds. They want us at SIX g per meal. Per MEAL. Of course, mine is not that tight any more. You had what I call Stage 1 dumping--- the sleepies. Next I would feel very dry mouth, cold hands & feet (like I have anything else now with Raynaud's!), then heart palpitations, nausea. Usually not vomiting because the reaction occurs when it hits the intestine. And by then, it is TOO LATE to fetch it back. Yeah, I could not eat that bfast. The milk alone is 12g of sugar, then add the berries and the cereal. <thud> I'd be unconscious. I do eat some cereals with non-dairy creamer, just a dab (never did like my cereal to have to swim), and even so, sometimes I OD. Also, I can OD on air in the morning. I really need to have some solid food on board (that's after protein supp, of course) before I hit anything with many carbs. That's the only time of day I'm " total carb " sensitive. Thin how I do in motels with the continental bfast. The bigger the facility, the more carbs they display! LOL! Thanks, Vitalady, Inc. Guest guest
I am so glad to hear that somebody else has these same symptoms!!! I had a cup of cappuccino yesterday at work to try to get me through the afternoon (actually I only use about 1/4 cappuccino and the rest coffee due to the sweetness) and normally I do okay but within about 2 minutes my head almost hit my keyboard... it took me about 30 minutes to come out of my stupor and by then it was time to leave! Oh well I guess it did work it got me through the rest of the day!!! LOL -- Re: Re: Re: Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup --the horror Your tolerance level is way up there, by our stds. Guest guest
ok i am dumb never knew that sleeping after a meal was a form of dumping!!! so how do i avoid that? and no i dont eat sugar other than fructose form in fruit i mean i pass out! janice Re:Re: Re: Re: Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup --the horror , I did some recalculation after I posted what I thought was my 20 gram ceiling and realized it was more like 14 grams (the amount in one Edy's Coconut Bar!), which is still apparently generous by " popular " standards. But I can do this and not get the stage one dumping sleepies. At least I know that there is SOME limit to the amount of sugar I can consume. Sometimes the fear of dumping is the only thing which keeps me away from the Entenmann's display at the supermarket. Because of this list, I have long since abandoned my old Detour/blueberry lunch, and substituted UNsweetened soy milk for the skim milk in my cereal, so no more sleepies there either. Actually, because of this list, I have been alot more careful about sugar consumption and I have to say I have found it makes a difference in handling cravings. About the only thing I haven't been able to modify is my choice in salad dressing: I am obsessed with Ken's Lite Raspberry Walnut Dressing (6 grams sugar per 2T serving, and I generally have 4Ts on my huge salads). I am slavish to this dressing! I could chug it if I wasn't trying to behave myself! LOL! I think this is a truism: NEVER get between a girl and her favorite salad dressing!
