Guest guest
OOpsie... That sounds like a drug reaction to me, and especially maybe a reaction to the antibiotics, if you're still on any of them. The other (minirascal) is more qualified to say what she thinks, but that's how it sounds to me. Call your doc. Call whatever doc has prescribed whatever you're taking --- from antibiotics to birth control or pain stuff -- and ask. It could be a good, gentle warning that saves you from a later, life-threatening reaction. I wonder whether that stitch could be what's known as an alar stitch, that's used to help decide where the nose goes after upper surgery... Best, C. Guest guest
, I had a rash - sort of - that started about 10 days after my surgery too. Mine was really strange and unlike any rash I'd ever had before; not that there have been that many. About the time that my swelling started to go down a lot, I got some redness around my nose and a bit into the cheek area, plus these little tiny bumps that were almost like little white pimples. Sorry, I know that sounds yukky, and it was. They were very small, but I had lots of them on and around my nose. The rash lasted less than two weeks, and I think it may have been because I was so swollen after surgery that you couldn't see any of the pores on my face. (So maybe oil got trapped in there?) Once the swelling got better and my skin wasn't stretched so far, that's when those tiny pimples popped out. I used some of my kids Neutrogena pore cleanser, and it cleared up fairly quickly. I did wonder if it was due to the steroids they used during surgery, or some of the other medications, I really don't know to be honest. But mine cleared up, which I'm happy about. Like someone else wrote though, it's best to call your doctor and ask about it, just in case it is a reaction to medication. Oh and about the swollen upper lip. Mine is still swollen too, and looks 'funny' still. I normally have thin lips (scandinavian heritage), but mine are puffy and still very sensitive. The upper lip area - the area between my nose and actual lip - is still really puffy as well. I hope that goes down because it looks weird. I've got stitches and wires inside my mouth in that general area, but I feel something 'more' than that is causing this area to be puffy. I almost think I can feel the plates or screws in the area just below my nose. I did have some nose work done too, so I'm thinking this will all settle in time. Hope so anyway :-) Judy
