Guest guest
Have you tried Sugarfree Carnation Instant Breakfast? My nutritionist told me to even add powdered milk to the mixture to add additional protein to it as well. The Instant Breakfast on its own does not have as much protein as most shakes but with the added powdered milk it really pushes it up there. Just a thought. And have you tried the Isopure? They are not great but they are the best that I have found so far. There is also the Unjury protein powder that I have been told has no flavor and you can add to whatever you want. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I don't like most of the protein shakes cause the most common ones are milk based and I DISLIKE milk - hate is closer to the real emotion with milk. After my surgery I was trying to gag down protein drinks with added protein powder and I was eating them so fast to get them down it was making me sick. I found fruit juice flavored protein drinks, Nectar Harvey Wallbanger and Strawberry Kiwi are what I have now, but from looking there are other brands out there too. Anyway these give you protein but are not milk based, I think you could find something very similar to these at GNC or a local low carb store maybe if you don't want to order them online. By the way my husband who likes milk just loves the Extreme Smoothie Chocolate Dream and Praline Scream protein drinks, they are spendy but have 35 gr of protein per can. anne > Hi, > > you can also try the Boost drink that's good. > > > >From: " Dora McCary " <dora.mccary@l...> > >Reply-To: Gastric_Bypass_Family > >To: <Gastric_Bypass_Family > > >Subject: RE: Can anyone tell me > >Date: Mon, 13 Sep 2004 14:45:19 -0500 > > > >Have you tried Sugarfree Carnation Instant Breakfast? Guest guest
, I found the Instant Breakfast on either the cereal isle or the isle where the hot chocolate is in my regular grocery store. It has been on the market for years. If you can't find it ask someone who works there. If they don't carry it ask if they will start. But I have not been to a grocery store that did not carry it. The ISOPURE I found at the Vitamin Shoppe. They had them in bottles already made and cold so that I could try them. Like I said, they are not great but they are much better than anything I have found so far. But they might carry it at GNC or other health stores. Try going online and googling them and seeing where it is available in your area. Hang in there. You know this was the right decision. It is tough at first, but you will round that corner and see everything through different eyes. Keep your chin up and I hope that this works for you.
