It's similar to how I operate, however I still watch what I eat when I'm in the " safety zone. " Right now I'm out of that zone and having to walk the straight and narrow, and boy, does it suck. I'm a fanatic about my daily weighing and believe that if I continue to do that and make myself take action when/if it goes out of the " zone " then I will be okay. Danger signs for me to watch for are: coming up with ANY reason to not weigh daily (okay, when on vacation I do not take my scale with me -- but if I come across one I step on it) and ANY adjustment to the upper limit of the " safety zone. " Right now, I'm at the top of the zone; pound five of the allowable five pound fluctuation. Since my clothes fit, and I'm not considered overweight at this weight, I could pretty easily rationalize that 165 at 5'10 " was very reasonable, and that there is no need to do anything. But, I know that rationalizing five pounds leads to rationalizing 10, 15, 20 and so forth, until the number becomes so daunting that trying to get back will feel like an impossible task. If you are weighing often and going into action when the scale says so and continue to operate that way, then I say more power to you! Guest guest
Well it depends what your " normal " is. The idea is about nutrition - regardless if you are a wls person or not. Are you feeling absolutely great, healthy, energetic, getting in your protein, vites, water, bloodwork coming out ok, etc? then it cant' be all that bad. If you are getting tired, rundown, feeling guilty cause you know you are eating bad, not getting in your protein, not getting in your water, vites, and your blood work needs some work, etc. then nope..not good. Oh this sounds so pre surgery for me. I remember the whole time I was gaining weight I was just fine until I hit the next 10 lb marker. I would weigh say 179 for months then gain that 1 lb to 180 and it was like I had permission to get up to 189. I was at 199 lbs for almost 2 years. Going over that 10 lb marker as well as a century marker terrified me. After reaching the 200 lb marker, I don't remember being nearly as concerned about what I weighed. I didn't like gaining the weight but I didn't get caught up in that 10 lb thing any longer.
