Second problem - I wore about half of it because it > splashed all over. What's the trick? ----------- Problem two is related to problem one. The cup must be really BIG. I use one of those large 32 ounce plastic cups. Have to make sure that the water/ice/protein is no higher than 1/2 way up the side of the cup. The level of liquid must be higher than the ice. Use an up and down motion on the mixing to break up the ice. Occasionally I have splashing accidents -- then, the only solution is to shout profanities, because cleaning up protein is a huge pain -- and getting it out of clothes is extremely difficult. Need to ask about this. I have a hand blender. Works great for pureeing soups, sauces, or mashing potatoes or squash right in the pan. Tried doing a protein shake with it. First problem was finding a cup big enough to get the blender down into. Second problem - I wore about half of it because it splashed all over. What's the trick? Guest guest
Yep, me, too. 4 cup measuring cup And yes, the best solution is just to take off the clothes (Don likes this part) and treat the stains as you would blood (predigested protein, after all). Put on something cuter. Better yet, shop to drown your sorrows. Of course, I shop thrift stores. You'll note I didn't say to spend money. LOL! Thanks, Vitalady, Inc. LOL! Thanks Beth and for the tips. I had tried it in a big old Tupperware tumbler (after transferring it between about 3 other cups/glasses until I found the on that fit), but it just whooshed up the sides! Must be some trick of the wrist I have yet to master. Practice, practice, practice... (Or maybe just stick with my old fashioned blender. It really isn't *that* big of a deal to clean...) Guest guest
Sally, I can only tell you what works for me. I have some plastic insulated coffee travel mugs ...20 oz. Not the ones that have the narrow bottom that fit in the cup holder of your car. Perfect diameter for the blender. I guess at the amount of water ... about two inches, 2 ice cubes, one Splenda (unless it's a brand of shake mix I don't care for) and a scoop of protein. And for a TREAT a little DaVinci syrup. ----- > Need to ask about this. I have a hand blender. Works great for pureeing > soups, sauces, or mashing potatoes or squash right in the pan.
